After Italy, OpenAI's ChatGPT May Face a Potential Block in Germany

Due to concerns about data security, the German commissioner for data protection has warned that Chat-GPT may be blocked in Germany, just like it was blocked in Italy. The remarks were made by the commissioner in an interview that was published on Monday in the Handelsblatt newspaper. Ulrich Kelber, the German information assurance official, recognized that on a basic level, Germany could make a move like Italy's and block OpenAI's ChatGPT. He made it clear that the state would be responsible for making such a decision, but he didn't say if there were any current plans to do so. Kelber disclosed that Germany has requested additional information regarding Italy's temporary ban, which led OpenAI, supported by Microsoft (MSFT.O), to shut down ChatGPT in the nation.
