Japan-made robot seal helping Ukrainian children heal in Poland

Warsaw – A Japanese robot seal is being used in psychological care for Ukrainian children with developmental disabilities and post-traumatic stress disorder triggered by Russia's military attacks on Ukraine. Takanori Shibata of Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, or AIST, who developed the Paro seal robot, has so far gifted six of the mechanical creatures to medical institutions in Poland.
