India Joins Global Alliance on AI its Founding Member

India has joined international and multi-stakeholder initiative Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) as its founder member. In this alliance, India will join Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, the US, and the European Union. The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) is an international and multistakeholder initiative to guide the responsible development and use of AI, grounded in human rights, inclusion, diversity, innovation, and economic growth. On late Monday, India's IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tweeted to announce the news, saying,"Delighted to announce that India has joined the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence or GPAI today as a founding member. This multi-stakeholder international partnership will promote responsible and human centric development and use of AI."
