#artificialintelligence

By Avik Chanda In 2013, as a fresh B. Tech graduate, Shranik Jain lived and breathed only technology – his chief interests at that time were all centred around the intricacies of Intel's 3D Tri Gate Transistor. But six years on, his work as a Product Manager for IndiaMART InterMESH Limited has taken him to an area that traditionally wouldn't have been in the remit of his job description. "Over the years, significant changes have taken place in the product management role," explains Shranik. "We are now focusing majorly on User Experience Design. With this power shift comes a great opportunity for retailers.

How can machine learning create an 'extraordinary' customer service when it comes to last-mile delivery?

#artificialintelligence

When we talk about machine learning, we're talking about a direct application of artificial intelligence that allows a system to learn from experience rather than instruction. In the on-demand delivery space, companies are putting machine learning and predictive analysis to use to track trends, pre-empt requests and enhance the last-mile delivery service. Our'always-on' culture means that customers expect rapid and relevant user experiences. Today, delivery companies have to be agile and responsive in order to retain customers. One glitch, one delay and customers could take their business elsewhere.

It is hoped that a combination the construction industry will adopt a combination of AI and 3D printing technology to automate many processes and cut down on wasted materials whilst aligning to new environmental standards. Comprehensive databases will be able to monitor stock and even schedule projects according to the weather, whilst self-operating and self-driving machinery are already being trialed to take on repetitive manual tasks to free up employees.

The Magic Of Smart Mirrors: Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality And The Internet of Things

#artificialintelligence

"Mirror, mirror on the wall. . The idea of a mirror not only reflecting your image back to you but also augmenting it is no longer a fairytale. Several companies have made significant progress in creating smart mirrors, also called digital mirrors or smart displays, that can help you in the dressing room as well as when you're in the hair stylist's seat or shopping for makeup. The silver-glassed mirrors most of us are familiar with today got their start more than 200 years ago in Germany. While they still serve a useful purpose when reflecting your image back to you, some fashion and beauty leaders figured that if you added smart technology to mirrors, they could elevate the customer experience.

Which One is Faster -Laikago By Unitree Robotics Meeting Spotmini From Boston Dynamics. Chinese roboticist Xing Wang has long been a fan of BigDog, AlphaDog, Spot, SpotMini, and other robots that Boston Dynamics has famously introduced over the years. "Marc Raibert … is my idol," Wang once told us about the founder and president of Boston Dynamics. For more info: http://www.unitree.cc/e/action/ShowIn... SpotMini The new SpotMini looks much more polished and less grotesque, like a real-life cross between a Pixar animation and a robot out of a Neill Blomkamp vision of the future, thanks in part to series of bright yellow plates covering its legs and body. The new bot's movement also looks incredibly fluid.

In recent years, our fascination with the potential of AI has taken a more starry-eyed turn, as shown in the 2013 sci-fi drama "Her," where the main character falls in love with a virtual assistant. In reality, artificial intelligence (AI) technology is quickly permeating every aspect of our lives. From Amazon's voice-activated Alexa to writing technology that helps managers craft job postings, AI is in our hearts, homes and workplaces. And it's only going to become a bigger part of our lives: Experts call the rise of AI the driving force behind the fourth industrial revolution. On a recent afternoon at the NVIDIA robotics research lab in Seattle's University District, researchers use a simulated kitchen to test robots' ability to perform simple tasks such as grabbing objects.
