With both Trump and Vice President Harris fiercely competing there, and the winner likely to take the White House, the plain-dressed and plainspoken Fetterman told the New York Post in an interview that "Musk is a concern." "Not even just that he has endorsed [Trump], but the fact that now he's becoming an active participant and showing up and doing rallies and things like that," Fetterman said, explaining that the enormously successful Tesla and SpaceX CEO is an attractive figure for the kinds of voters Harris needs to win.

John Fetterman, D-Pa., said he didn't agree with President Biden on his stance that the U.S. wouldn't join in an offensive operation against Iran during an interview on Sunday, saying he would never "capitulate to the fringe" of his party. CNN host Jake Tapper asked Fetterman to respond to reports that Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the U.S. wouldn't participate in any offensive operations against Iran during a conversation on Saturday. "Do you think that's the right call or should direct U.S. military action, as some of your colleagues in the Senate are suggesting, should that be on the table?" he asked. "I don't agree with that, I just think we should follow and have Israel's back in the situation. I don't agree with the president. I'm proud to stand with him and campaign for him and vote for him," he responded.

What Fetterman's Hospitalization Underscores About the Biology of Depression

Slate

Welcome to State of Mind, a section from Slate and Arizona State University dedicated to exploring mental health. I learned how to recognize strokes from TV. I must have seen the PSA urging me to "Act FAST" hundreds of times, slotted between episodes of Rugrats and Hey Arnold!, and I still recall the signs easily: facial droop, arm weakness, speech problems, timely response. Those PSAs have surely saved lives. According to the National Institutes of Health, 795,000 people have strokes each year in the U.S.; 137,000 of them die.

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, John Fetterman, ripped Republican opponent Dr. Mehmet Oz for taking "cheap shots" at his health on campaign trail in an interview with MSNBC's Alex Wagner on Thursday. The campaign for Pennsylvania Democratic Senate nominee John Fetterman has released some results from two recent cognitive tests that he recently took as questions about his ability to serve in the Senate continue to circulate ahead of the November election. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Fetterman took two cognitive tests earlier this year, one being the Saint Louis University Mental Status Examination (SLUMS) and the other being the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). The SLUMS test, which consists of simple memory questions and requires patients to perform basic tasks like recognizing a shape and drawing in X inside of it, was taken by Fetterman on July 14 and the RBANS test was taken by Fetterman this week, according to the Inquirer. The RBANS test consists of an assessment related to immediate memory, delayed memory, attention, language, and other functions.
