The arrival of ChatGPT, however, feels different. Most new technologies have transformed the products of creative agencies, but ChatGPT is a product that could transform the strategic and creative process itself. Agencies and consultancies should therefore be seriously considering the potential value that this tool can bring to their businesses. One of the helpful ways to go about this is to frame ChatGPT as a thinking partner and to explore the two basic thinking styles that underpin the practice of innovation and strategy formation: divergent and convergent thinking. This approach can help us to understand the benefits of ChatGPT, and how we can start capitalizing on them.

The letter, titled "Pause giant AI experiments" and published on March 22 by the Future of Life Institute, a nonprofit organization concerned with mitigating existential risks facing humanity โ€“ and especially such risks associated with AI โ€“ makes the case that AI research is outpacing our ability to implement protective guardrails. Leading AI companies have become engaged in a dangerous arms race, the authors of the open letter argue, inexorably leading the world to "ever more powerful digital minds that no one โ€“ not even their creators โ€“ can understand, predict, or reliably control." The letter urges caution, as opposed to a careless march into a potentially dangerous future: "powerful AI systems should be developed only once we are confident that their effects will be positive and their risks will be manageable," the authors write. The letter also entreats "all AI labs to immediately pause for at least six months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4." As of Monday morning, the letter has received more than 3,100 signatures.

A new AI-generated chatbot named ChatGPT is now raising ethical concerns regarding copywriting and plagiarism. AI-generated profile pictures from apps like Lensa AI have also become a viral sensation, and they, too, have faced criticism; artists are accusing the tech of forgery and theft, one of many conversations about how AI art has the potential to devalue work made by humans. No matter your stance on generative AI, one thing is clear: It will only continue to evolve, and as it does, its impact across business sectors is likely to be huge. Generative AI, as the name suggests, leverages artificial intelligence models to create various types of content, including images, code and text. The technology draws from existing data and content, as well as machine learning to predict the next word based on previous word sequences or to create an image based on words describing other images.

Will.i.am, the music performer, producer and TV star has offered his take on the future of artificial intelligence (AI), claiming that he sees it as'a companion' for advancement of the human race which will overcome the issue of it replacing jobs. Talking to The Drum's Jessica Goodfellow in the latest edition of the magazine, Will.i.am spoke about his tech venture I.am which aims to bring AI into the mainstream. He also discussed his vision of a future where man and machine will work together, rather than as rivals. But on the problem of whether AI will replace people in work, he believes that creatives will help overcome the problem. "Everyone was talking about an electric vehicle that would do away with the horse and carriage and how machines were going to revolutionise farming. The farmers were like'I don't' want that' because they were too proud. Technology threatened a whole bunch of workers. And then the dreamers came along. Think about Edison with the lightbulb and how many candle makers went out of business," he said.
