Kering Revolutionizes Luxury Retail with Launch of AI-Powered Personal Shopper - MetaTech
Kering, the world's second-largest luxury goods group after LVMH, has launched an experimental site called KNXT, which is a cutting-edge fashion space for curating innovative content and testing new ideas. The site incorporates both artificial intelligence (AI) and NFT tech, and is aimed at providing a unique shopping experience to visitors. One of the exciting features of KNXT is the introduction of an AI-powered chatbot named '/madeline', which is powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT, and is the first of its kind. This personal shopper is capable of recommending products from a variety of the group's brands, including Gucci, Bottega Venetia, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, and more. We are thrilled to introduce you to /madeline, the first AI personal shopper leveraging @OpenAI's #ChatGPT.

A.I. Pop Culture Is Already Here
Last month, a YouTube user named demonflyingfox uploaded a video titled "Harry Potter by Balenciaga." It showed characters from the Harry Potter films--Hagrid, Ron, Hermione, Snape, McGonagall, Dobby--as gaunt models with aggressive cheekbones (slightly yassified), dressed in gothic capes and leather jackets. Set against a catwalk-worthy electronica beat, the actors blink, nod, and speak lines from the books which have been remixed with fashion references. "You are Balenciaga, Harry," Hagrid says, instead of breaking the news that Harry is a wizard. The video is strange and hilariously sinister.

Spanish fashion house Balenciaga is debuting its fall 2021 collection in an original video game
The ongoing pandemic has forced designers to reimagine how they reveal their creations and Balenciaga has gone that extra mile to create an immersive experience. On December 6, the fashion house will debut its fall 2021 collection online in an original video game, Afterworld: The Age of Tomorrow. The game is an allegorical adventure set in the year 2031, exploring the collection's theme of destiny through'mythological pasts' and'projected futures.' In a statement, the Spanish label billed Afterworld as the'largest volumetric video project ever undertaken,' incorporating photogrammetry and cutting-edge computer technology. The game will be free and playable directly on Internet browsers.
AI's Latest Job? Designing Cool T-Shirts
The T-shirts sold by Cross & Freckle, a New York–based fashion upstart, don't look revolutionary at first glance. They come in black or white, they're cut for a unisex fit, and they sell for $25. Each of them has a little design embroidered into the cotton that references staples of New York City life: pigeons, dollar pizza slices, subway rats. They were designed instead by a neural network, which crunched doodle data from millions of people and spit out the original art that makes up the embroidery. Cross & Freckle isn't the first company to use AI to generate art--people have been doing that for years.
