The beer of the future? MailOnline tastes one of the world's first beers designed by AI

Daily Mail - Science & tech

It seems the usefulness of ChatGPT knows no bounds as even brewers are using the tool to make new beer. German brand Beck's is one of a number of companies to have turned to the clever AI chatbot to make a futuristic beverage, called Beck's Autonomous. ChatGPT not only came up with the beer's recipe but also its packaging, name, advertising campaign and even a design for the beer's website. Beck's is the first commercial brewery to work with ChatGPT, although other independent brew houses in North America have already done the same. MailOnline gave Beck's Autonomous a try to see how it compares with the brand's flagship lager.

A Profit-Maximizing Strategy for Advertising on the e-Commerce Platforms

Xiao, Lianghai, Zhao, Yixing, Chen, Jiwei

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

The online advertising management platform has become increasingly popular among e-commerce vendors/advertisers, offering a streamlined approach to reach target customers. Despite its advantages, configuring advertising strategies correctly remains a challenge for online vendors, particularly those with limited resources. Ineffective strategies often result in a surge of unproductive ``just looking'' clicks, leading to disproportionately high advertising expenses comparing to the growth of sales. In this paper, we present a novel profit-maximing strategy for targeting options of online advertising. The proposed model aims to find the optimal set of features to maximize the probability of converting targeted audiences into actual buyers. We address the optimization challenge by reformulating it as a multiple-choice knapsack problem (MCKP). We conduct an empirical study featuring real-world data from Tmall to show that our proposed method can effectively optimize the advertising strategy with budgetary constraints.

Towards Trustworthy AI-Empowered Real-Time Bidding for Online Advertisement Auctioning

Tang, Xiaoli, Yu, Han

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence-empowred Real-Time Bidding (AIRTB) is regarded as one of the most enabling technologies for online advertising. It has attracted significant research attention from diverse fields such as pattern recognition, game theory and mechanism design. Despite of its remarkable development and deployment, the AIRTB system can sometimes harm the interest of its participants (e.g., depleting the advertisers' budget with various kinds of fraud). As such, building trustworthy AIRTB auctioning systems has emerged as an important direction of research in this field in recent years. Due to the highly interdisciplinary nature of this field and a lack of a comprehensive survey, it is a challenge for researchers to enter this field and contribute towards building trustworthy AIRTB technologies. This paper bridges this important gap in trustworthy AIRTB literature. We start by analysing the key concerns of various AIRTB stakeholders and identify three main dimensions of trust building in AIRTB, namely security, robustness and fairness. For each of these dimensions, we propose a unique taxonomy of the state of the art, trace the root causes of possible breakdown of trust, and discuss the necessity of the given dimension. This is followed by a comprehensive review of existing strategies for fulfilling the requirements of each trust dimension. In addition, we discuss the promising future directions of research essential towards building trustworthy AIRTB systems to benefit the field of online advertising.

AI-assisted creation: Midjourney creates 240 ads in a few minutes - Actu IA

#artificialintelligence

The use of AI, in particular Midjourney to create a work of art, raises many controversies, the British advertising agency 10 days, which, as its name suggests, develops communication campaigns in just 10 days, decided to demonstrate that AI-assisted creation will soon disrupt the art creation industry. To this end, it used Midjourney to produce 24 different advertising posters in less than a minute for 10 famous brands. Based in London and founded by brothers Jolyon, George and Dominic White, the 10 days agency aims to give scale-up brands the chance to grow quickly with high-quality but low-cost advertising campaigns that it commits to producing in 10 days or less. The three brothers conducted this experiment to demonstrate the creative potential of AI. They used the AI model Text-To-Image Midjourney and with a few keywords, it produced 24 images with different graphics per brand in a few minutes.

India's National Tiger Conservation Authority (NCTA) has used over 26,000 cameras to capture over 24 million images of tigers around the country. Conservationists are using an AI system to identify tigers found in the images and quantify the total tiger population in the country. The NCTA plans to use an AI system to map patrol routes throughout sanctuaries to better monitor tigers next. Researchers at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and Jefferson Parish Department of Environmental Affairs have used a supercomputer to simulate the diffusion and dispersion of chemical compounds that can deodorize a landfill.

Stay Ahead Of The Curve With Video Advertising - ONPASSIVE

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence is still relatively new to most people, but it has been around almost as long as computers and the internet itself. In the future, we will have completely computerized artificial intelligence, where a computer system will be able to predict and execute actions based on pre-programmed algorithms. This will revolutionize the video advertising industry like few other things in history. We belong to a world where almost everything we do is running on some sort of computer. It doesn't matter if it's a car or a house, you will find that most of your activities are being run by some program. And in all likelihood, computers will continue to run most of your business activities as well.

Top 5 Reasons to Make Machine Learning Work for Your Business

#artificialintelligence

This growth is driven not only by "middle adopters" recognizing the vast potential of machine learning after watching early adopters benefit from its use but by steady improvements in machine-learning technology itself. It may be too early to say with certainty that machine learning develops according to a predictable framework like Moore's Law, the famous precept about computing power that has borne out for nearly 50 years and only recently began to show signs of strain. But the industry is clearly on a fast track. Since machine-learning algorithms grow wealthier and more businesses come about the notion of incorporating this powerful technology in their processes, it is time for your business idea of placing machine learning how to operate, also. To begin with, think about the advantages and costs.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Revolutionizing the Advertising Industry

#artificialintelligence

The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in advertising has transformed the industry by curating content, automating online bidding, displaying data driven ads and maximizing broadcast and streaming revenues. Advertising -- the communicative efforts undertaken by businesses to draw the attention of the masses towards their offerings -- has come a long way from where it started. Although the roots of this practice can be found deep in antiquity, the more substantially vehement instances of advertising emerged roughly around a century ago and will most likely continue far into the future, as long as there are products to sell and people who can buy them. And meanwhile, the way advertising content is conceived, created, and delivered will also undergo massive changes to keep up with the market trends and technological innovations, as it has been always doing. And the latest addition in the never-ending cycle of change that the advertising industry has adopted is artificial intelligence.
