Egg-citing! Tesla shows off redesigned $22,000 Optimus humanoid poaching an egg using its new delicate grip

Tesla's humanoid robot has come a long way - it was first revealed just as a human in a suit, and now, Optimus can poach an egg like a real chef. The company shared a clip of its overhauled Generation 2 Optimus robot in a new video, showing the nearly six-foot-tall machine delicately picking up before switching hands and placing it down without breaking the outer shell. The demonstration video also showed Optimus flexing its fingers, doing squats, and walking across the room - activities necessary for when it replaces humans in the workplace. Elon Musk unveiled its robotics ambitions in 2021, teasing the humanoid robot using a person in a spandex suit. A prototype was not revealed until a year later - but the machine was clunky and failed to impress investors.
