China's tech giants spending more on AI than Silicon Valley

China's biggest tech companies have overtaken the giants of Silicon Valley in the race to invest in artificial intelligence and machine learning this year, according to new research for The Daily Telegraph. Collectively, the four big Chinese groups have been involved in $12.8bn of the total, according to data compiled by Pitchbook, a financial data firm.
