Amazon Alexa comes to the first non-Echo device, the Triby
The voice of Alexa, the digital assistant brought to you by the Amazon Echo, is making its debut on a third-party device on Thursday. Now, if you want to employ the digital assistant talents of Alexa, you'll also be able to use a Wi-Fi connected device called Triby. France-based Invoxia unveiled Triby, a kind of smart speaker, last year, but is only now rolling out an update to the device that has Alexa voice command functionality, which only be available in the U.S. (for now). Late last year, the company joined Amazon's Alexa Fund, a 100 million initiative to support startups looking to integrate Alexa functionality into their products. The Triby is promoted as being family friendly.
