Are you ready for the next industrial revolution? - beanddo
When I was at school in the 1970s, I remember my geography teacher telling us that the world of work in the 21st century would look very different. In fact, for most of us the world of work wouldn't exist at all – everything would be done by robots. It was believed that we would live in an almost fully-automated world – one run on artificial intelligence (AI). It was also thought that the future would be a time of plenty. By the middle of the 21st century we would have created a steady state economy for the whole world, leaving you and me free to enjoy lots of leisure time.
