Britain's AI sector draws record funding even as 'brain drain' continues

British artificial intelligence companies are attracting almost as much capital as the rest of Europe combined, figures have shown, even as experts caution the UK is suffering from a "brain drain" of its best talent. In 2018, there were 82 venture capital fundraising by UK companies, raising a record $1.3bn (£1bn) over the course of the year. This is compared to the 70 deals which raised $1.2bn a year earlier, and is up almost six-fold in five years.
