OrthoGrid launches artificial intelligence platform for THR

At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, OrthoGrid Systems Inc. announced the OrthoGrid Hip AI platform, an intraoperative navigation system for total hip replacement, according to a press release. The OrthoGrid Hip AI technology, which is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, is designed to improve surgeon efficient, accuracy and reproducibility, according to the release. "Surgeons are risk-averse decision makers," Richard Boddington, co-CEO of OrthoGrid, said in the release. "They spend most of their time interpreting information so they can make decisions that ensure reproducible outcomes for their patients. AI provides them with the most efficient way to interpret all that information in real-time, which is the true transformation we are delivering in orthopedic surgery," he added.
