The Coming Years Autonomous Drone Will Fly Into Major Danger Areas
As per the researches and reports, within coming five years, the autonomous drones would fly into the danger zones to carry out search and rescue missions. Most of the drones rely on GPS and can detect obstacles using visual systems. But a drone that can operate in environment like earthquake, fires or other disasters, would be ideal for use. "If you want a drone that can navigate itself in a structured or unstructured environment, in a GPS-denied environment, you need to equip it with different sensors," said Antonios Tzes, Professor at NYU Abu Dhabi. NYU Abu Dhabi's prototype drones use a combination of multiple cameras, telescopic vision and sensors.
