Finding Truth Among Artificial Intelligence Myths

Everywhere you look there is tension between the future and the now. As individuals we see it – when we are kids, we aspire to be older than we are, able to drive, to vote, to be independent. As we age, we look back and strive to be cooler, somehow also looking for independence, odd as that may seem to our younger selves. It shows up in society as discussions about what was really a "golden age" looking back, and fears about an apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic world looking ahead. The next wave of music (whatever it may be) is always bad for the future youth.
