The Tesla self-driving car has prompted debate online after the man was seen on the I-5 highway near Santa Clarita, California sleeping while driving. A Tesla driver was filmed asleep at the wheel as the semi-autonomous vehicle cruised on its own down a highway in Massachusetts over the weekend. At least, that's what video captured Sunday appears to show. Twitter user Dakota Randall posted a 28-second clip of the incident which occurred along the Massachusetts Turnpike. The video appears to show a driver using Tesla's advanced driver assistance system called Autopilot. Teslas are sick, I guess? Randall told local media that he blew his car's horn in an attempt to wake the driver, but it didn't work. "At no point did I feel like I was in danger until after the fact, when I thought'Wow, I was just driving next to somebody who was completely asleep on the Mass Pike of all places, like one of the most dangerous roads I can imagine," Randall told WHDH in Newton, Massachusetts. "But yeah, the car stayed the same speed in the same way on the highway, and yeah, it didn't change at all.

I conducted my own qualitative research to explore new work-driven coaching methodologies. My context was job satisfaction, adaptability and efficiency, and I tried to find a way of optimizing the speed and comfort of adaption to change and the solving of complex problems.

In its update to its National Artificial Intelligence Research And Development Strategic Plan, the White House's Office of Science and Technology Policy has set new objectives for federal AI research. WHY IT MATTERS The strategic plan boils down to eight strategies for how government can better enable development of safe and effective AI and machine learning technologies for healthcare and other industries. The 50-page document takes special interest in ensuring that data used to power AI is trustworthy and that the algorithms used to process it are understandable – not least in healthcare. "A key research challenge is increasing the'explainability' or ''transparency' of AI," according to the report. "Many algorithms, including those based on deep learning, are opaque to users, with few existing mechanisms for explaining their results. This is especially problematic for domains such as healthcare, where doctors need explanations to justify a particular diagnosis or a course of treatment. AI techniques such as decision-tree induction provide built-in explanations but are generally less accurate. Thus, researchers must develop systems that are transparent, and intrinsically capable of explaining the reasons for their results to users."
