MWC 2025: Everything announced in Barcelona so far
Mobile World Congress is taking place in Barcelona this week, offering manufacturers an opportunity to show off new gear without needing to hold their own splashy event. Lenovo made its first ThinkPad powered by a Snapdragon chip
Unlike Apple's M1 MacBooks, ARM-based Windows on Snapdragon laptops haven't enjoyed quite the same level of success or popularity. But Lenovo is hoping to change that – at least for enterprise customers – with the new ThinkPad X13s. The ThinkPad X13s' secret weapon is its Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chip, which Lenovo says is the first time Qualcomm's newest laptop processor has been featured in a commercial device. By leveraging improved energy efficiency and a low-power 400-nit 13.3-inch display, Lenovo says the ThinkPad X13s can last up to 28 hours on a single charge. That said, I'm going to want to confirm this myself, because I've definitely been burned by shorter-than-expected longevity on previous Windows on Snapdragon machines.
Searching for Bing: How Microsoft's search engine has lost its way
In 2015, Microsoft's Bing search engine achieved something it had never had before: relevancy. By notching a 20-percent share of U.S. search, according to comScore, it managed to impact Google, the brand that was literally synonymous with search. In 2018, it seems like Bing's willing to hand some of that success right back. Why? Because, as a habitual Bing user, I've noticed a deterioration in quality. In the past I've argued that there were four good reasons to switch from Google to Bing.
