Council Post: 12 Industries And Focuses Set To Be Revolutionized By Quantum Computing

#artificialintelligence

How fast is quantum computing? By some estimates, quantum computers may be 158 million times faster than the fastest current supercomputer. Many of us may think such power is destined to be a tool used solely for complex scientific calculations, but it may soon play a significant role in functions and industries that impact our everyday lives. Further, while quantum technology could play a tremendous role in improving everything from human health to energy exploration, in unscrupulous hands, our increasingly digital work and personal lives could be at added risk. Tech experts are clear: The time to prepare for the impacts of quantum computing (both good and bad) is now.

Increasingly powered by artificial intelligence, sales in the video gaming industry are anticipated to increase significantly in 2022. If you're a hard-core, veteran gamer, then the recent advances in gaming technology are probably not lost on you. You've likely already seen first-hand how gaming has improved by light years since the old arcade scene. For example, one of the best-selling early video games was Pac-Man. Gamers played Pac-Man on a relic game system known as Atari 2600.

Artifical Intelligence Has Revolutionized Our Life Over The Past Decades:

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence refers to the ability of any machine or computer to mimic human capabilities such as recognizing objects, making decisions, and solving problems, etc. The past decade has witnessed the great rise of Artificial Intelligence. The technology has made an impact in almost every field out there. The two major reasons for the rapid growth of AI in this decade are: data and compute. IBM Watson, a natural language question-answering computer, competes on Jeopardy and defeats two former champions.. Watson is a significant leap of a machine's ability to understand the context in human language.

Talks on lethal autonomous weapons systems began at the United Nations November 13, amid calls for an international ban on independent "killer robots" that could revolutionize warfare -- discussions are scheduled to last all week, under the banner of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons. CCW Group of Governmental Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems to meet next week https://t.co/cawvBkiuAR The summit in Geneva comes after over 100 major figures in technology and science co-signed a letter warning such weapons systems could lead to a "third revolution in warfare" in July. "Once developed, they will permit armed conflict to be fought at a scale greater than ever, and at timescales faster than humans can comprehend. The deadly consequence of this is machines -- not people -- will determine who lives and dies," the letter read.
