How AI and ML is helping to protect us from the dark side of the internet - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

In today's era technology advancements has allowed humans to achieve so much. With the rise of the internet has triggered a shift in society whereby we rely heavily on the global system. We can go further than the creation of the internet with innovations in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and how they are having an impact on making cyberspace safe. The internet consisting of many different networks and material has initiated a life where we have been introduced to new ways of interacting. The internet is now that established could it be our preferred medium of communication?

Can Artificial Intelligence help you find love? - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

With Love Island as the highlight of (most) of our lives, especially now the football is over; it got me thinking about how data and dating can go hand in hand, and how when it comes to finding love technology is making some serious progress and advancements in such a short space of time. As a massive Love Island fan, I wanted to have a look at how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is being used to find love, and how apps like Plenty of Fish and Tinder rely on AI to predict who we will match with and whether we will find the love of our lives with the help of an algorithm. For any of you that are using dating apps to find love, AI and machine learning is playing its part. If you use Amazon, you'll be used to seeing the suggested products based on your previous purchases, these apps are using similar algorithms but instead of suggesting shopping they're suggesting love interests. As you continue to use the dating sites the AI and machine learning is continuously learning more about you and your preferences.

Safe and Trusted AI - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

The last two decades have seen dramatic advances in automation, from affordable smartphones that can understand your voice commands, to self-driving cars with safety records comparable to human drivers, and computers that can diagnose disease as well as experienced doctors. These advances have been driven not just by falling costs of computing power, but huge leaps forward in machine learning – techniques which automate the discovery of patterns and associations in data. The most powerful of these require minimal human expertise to guide that learning. In many cases, this means computers can discover the underlying rules and patterns in data by themselves. Whilst the terminology has exciting connotations in science fiction, artificial intelligence, or AI, is the use of these techniques to perform tasks that we previously thought could only be done by a human – driving a car, playing chess, or recommending medication, for example.

Is technology impacting the way we apply for jobs? - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

Technology is having an impact on every aspect of our lives, and no less in our job search. Tech is not just changing the way I, as a recruiter, find the best candidates for a role but also how the candidate searches for their next opportunity. We often see the positives of technology and how it has made our lives that bit easier, the tech used in job searching is often seen as a positive, but can it also have a negative impact on the way we now search for jobs? Everything is done digitally now, from searching for a role to applying for it, some companies are even taking it as far as pre-screening through the use of a chatbot. While this can save time and be more convenient it does make me question the personal side of recruitment.

Can AI go too far? - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

Since robots and machines have been incorporated into our lives, we have always lived with the question of will the robot rise and take over humans? We see it in films and TV but could it become a possibility one day? The field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing, rapidly. AI and Machine Learning is becoming a part of our lives, and while at the moment there doesn't seem to be much of a threat I want to take a look at whether AI can go too far and if there are already warning signs of this happening. It was only at the beginning of the month that it was reported that Facebook had to shut down its AI bots as they started communicating with each other in their own language.

How technology is treating long-term disease - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

As we all know, finding out you have any form of terminal illness is a scary prospect. It may sometimes seem difficult to be positive minded & find a way to get through it. Nowadays, technology is evolving rapidly, and the help and development of new technology in treatment is helping people not only live longer but determine the most effective way to treat their illness. There are some crazy but amazing technologies out there that help medical professionals monitor and prevent ill health. MC10 develops a Bio stamp that is'thinner than a plaster', which can monitor temperature, sense any movement and heart rate – all these things are especially important when it comes to our health, all this data can then be transmitted wirelessly.

How video games are changing AI - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is some of the most talked about technology of the future, people are wondering where it is going, how it can be used and what impact it is going to have on our lives. But the development of AI has been going on for years, especially when we look at video games. The mass development and growth of AI can be attributed to the gaming industry, as they have been using this technology for years, and developers have been learning from it. In America an AI researcher used the artificial intelligence in the video game'Grand Theft Auto' to teach the AI in self-driving cars to understand stop signs. As the game produced different versions of stop signs in different situations, e.g. in fog, rain or sun, he was able to teach the algorithm in his AI how to recognise these signs when on the road.

AI can prove to have many benefits to telco companies from saving time and money to helping the customer have a seamless experience. On the face of it the AI is used to help create a complete picture of any customer, but with the help of big data it is doing so much more. Every interaction a customer has with a telco brand big data is being collected on them, from the deals and packages they choose to complaints and more.

Will AI help legal practices? - KDR Recruitment

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the hottest trend at the moment, everyone is talking about how it may change our lives and even take our jobs. Potentially every industry will be affected by AI in the (near) future, but this doesn't mean it will be a negative effect. I have a background in Law so naturally I'm interested to see how AI might change the legal profession for the better. As AI continues to develop and learn it can be used to cut time in proof-reading and research. A study in America found that it took legal professionals on average one hour to proof a document for mistakes, but it only took the AI a matter of minutes.
