Microsoft's new Copilot interface looks a lot like one you already know
Earlier this month, Microsoft revamped the Copilot for Windows app. Now, the AI assistant is getting a different kind of facelift--in the form of a brand-new interface, reports Windows Latest. The new Copilot interface may seem familiar to anyone who's been using OpenAI's ChatGPT, with the chat history now moved to a side panel on the left instead of as a pop-up window alongside the convo. There's also a button to hide the side panel and give more space to the convo itself. Microsoft has also chosen to start using the same icons as ChatGPT for the "expand" and "conversation" buttons.
SPADE: Systematic Prompt Framework for Automated Dialogue Expansion in Machine-Generated Text Detection

The increasing capability of large language models (LLMs) to generate synthetic content has heightened concerns about their misuse, driving the development of Machine-Generated Text (MGT) detection models. However, these detectors face significant challenges due to the lack of systematically generated, high-quality datasets for training. To address this issue, we propose five novel data augmentation frameworks for synthetic user dialogue generation through a structured prompting approach, reducing the costs associated with traditional data collection methods. Our proposed method yields 14 new dialogue datasets, which we benchmark against seven MGT detection models. The results demonstrate improved generalization performance when utilizing a mixed dataset produced by our proposed augmentation framework. Furthermore, considering that real-world agents lack knowledge of future opponent utterances, we simulate online dialogue detection and examine the relationship between chat history length and detection accuracy. We also benchmark online detection performance with limited chat history on our frameworks. Our open-source datasets can be downloaded from https://github.com/AngieYYF/SPADE-customer-service-dialogue.
Black Eyed Peas star predicts which jobs may go extinct thanks to AI
"The only thing to be worried about is if you're making music to chase an algorithm," he told Fox News Digital. "If you're making music to trend on TikTok. And to do that, you have to really unlock the codes to that matrix. If that's your whole [hustle], then AI is going to do a better job than that." The Black Eyed Peas singer does think people not involved in the creative process in the music industry are the ones who should worry about AI taking away their jobs.
Social Convos: Capturing Agendas and Emotions on Social Media

Social media platforms are popular tools for disseminating targeted information during major public events like elections or pandemics. Systematic analysis of the message traffic can provide valuable insights into prevailing opinions and social dynamics among different segments of the population. We are specifically interested in influence spread, and in particular whether more deliberate influence operations can be detected. However, filtering out the essential messages with telltale influence indicators from the extensive and often chaotic social media traffic is a major challenge. In this paper we present a novel approach to extract influence indicators from messages circulating among groups of users discussing particular topics. We build upon the concept of a convo to identify influential authors who are actively promoting some particular agenda around that topic within the group. We focus on two influence indicators: the (control of) agenda and the use of emotional language.
Convo: What does conversational programming need? An exploration of machine learning interface design
Van Brummelen, Jessica, Weng, Kevin, Lin, Phoebe, Yeo, Catherine
Vast improvements in natural language understanding and speech recognition have paved the way for conversational interaction with computers. While conversational agents have often been used for short goal-oriented dialog, we know little about agents for developing computer programs. To explore the utility of natural language for programming, we conducted a study ($n$=45) comparing different input methods to a conversational programming system we developed. Participants completed novice and advanced tasks using voice-based, text-based, and voice-or-text-based systems. We found that users appreciated aspects of each system (e.g., voice-input efficiency, text-input precision) and that novice users were more optimistic about programming using voice-input than advanced users. Our results show that future conversational programming tools should be tailored to users' programming experience and allow users to choose their preferred input mode. To reduce cognitive load, future interfaces can incorporate visualizations and possess custom natural language understanding and speech recognition models for programming.
Tinder's new feature 'My Move' let's women start the conversation
Move over Bumble, you're not the only dating app that let's women exclusively start the convo. Buzz60's Mercer Morrison has the story. A link has been sent to your friend's email address. A link has been posted to your Facebook feed. Move over Bumble, you're not the only dating app that let's women exclusively start the convo.
No, I don't want to have long conversations with Alexa
Amazon's Alexa is great for many things. I love walking through my door saying "Alexa, turn on all lights." I like asking Alexa for the weather and telling it to play music. I really appreciate how Amazon is constantly improving its capabilities with new skills. But what I don't want is to have any kind of extended conversation with Alexa.

This is a super cute felt igloo puzzle perfect for little ones! All of our puzzles are double sided meaning one color felt is on one side and there is colored foam on the the opposite side. This will help make it easier for little ones to put it together and make it more fun as they can do whichever side/color they like. The foam also makes the puzzles snap together nicely. Looking for a special puzzle that you dont see listed?
Your girl friends can eavesdrop on convos in this dating app
Truth is, nobody can stop you from showing your friends all the messages you get on dating sites, especially the creepy PMs women get all the time due to the gender disparity in many services. Maybe you want to ask them what they think of your prospective date based on your conversation or to warn them off talking to this person who's been harassing you on the app for months. But making eavesdropping an actual feature in a dating app is alarming. A lot of people would consider inviting friends to watch a private convo from behind a cloak of invisibility a betrayal of trust and a huge violation of privacy. The app's creator, Alejandro Ponce, told TechCrunch that he believes men would still join his service despite the feature's existence, though, because "boys will be wherever girls are."
