Could Artificial Intelligence Become Conscious? 33 Researchers Contribute Their Opinion Emerj
Over the last five months, we've combined a mix of interviews and surveys with some of our most experienced artificial intelligence guests – including computer science PhDs from Stanford, Georgia Tech, and more – as well as some of the most renowned AGI researchers in the world. We asked 33 AI researchers when they believe (with 90% confidence) that artificial intelligence will be capable of self-aware consciousness. Some of the answers surprised us. To explore the expert opinions, scroll in the interactive graphic below. Clicking on a date range (example: "2061-2100") will take you to all of the respondents who guessed that date range as realistic for AI consciousness.
Where there's a Skill there's a way: Piloting Box's new AI feature
In a world where our content is increasingly digital, it feels like searching for an exact piece of information should be simple. However, when was the last time you scrolled through your phone's photos to look for a specific moment but had trouble finding it? While content is becoming more accessible, the volume has made searching tougher. This past October, cloud storage company Box announced a new feature called Skills, which uses artificial intelligence to make content like photos and video "smarter." When we saw this, we thought it had the potential to help residents and city staff more efficiently search the vast video archives of our city meetings. We explain more below, but if you want to jump straight to the experience, here are our Box Skills-enabled videos: San Jose Smart Cities & Service Improvements Committee meetings.
What Is Google AutoDraw? Web-Based Tool Can Turn Everyone Into A Designer
Google Creative Lab's newest experiment is called AutoDraw. It is a web-based tool that makes it easy for everyone to do some design work online. It uses machine learning, so it can cater to most if not all of everyone's design needs. AutoDraw has an MSPaint-style interface, so users won't find it difficult to navigate on their first try. Android Police says it's good for making birthday cards or an event posters, but its use seems endless.
14 experts opinions on Artificial Intelligence in Marketing Automation
While Artificial Intelligence is conquering the chatbot world, something similar is happening in the Marketing Automation industry too. Innovative, new technologies are appearing day by day that reinvents the way we – marketers – do our daily routine. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence fundamentally change our job description: solves different pain points we and our company face and help us move to a more strategic position. We need to know what type of skills we have to learn before it is too late. Therefore I asked 14 seasoned experts about their opinion: how could Artificial Intelligence be used in Marketing Automation? 1. Automatic optimization Conversion rate optimization is one of the tool sets that can radically improve our campaigns' performance. The most important procedure is AB and multivariate testing. The problem is that we have to perform high volume of little experiments, pay attention continuously, send enough volume of traffic to make our results significant, interpret the data the right way… And everything is performed manually. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence could save a lot of time when it comes to optimizing our messages and emails. Most marketers test manually… imagine several iterations automatically populating and optimizing in real-time.
The Contextual Bubble -- Snips Blog
At Snips, we have spent the past year building technologies for assistants, from analyzing your location patterns to extracting relevant stuff from your email and chat messages. But we don't want to be just a technology company. We want to build products on top of our technology, simplifying the way we interact with our devices on a daily basis. Compared to product categories like calendars or photo-sharing apps, assistants are relatively new. As such, designers around the world have been experimenting with various ideas, from bots to voice assistants, proactive suggestions or physical devices.

Hands-on with Windows 10's new Windows Ink
This summer, a spate of new features are headed to Windows 10 by way of the Anniversary Update, Microsoft's next major revision to the OS. Chief among the additions is Windows Ink, an experience specifically designed for digital pen users. The full Ink experience is still months away--longer, if you wait on the fruits of Microsoft's partnership with Wacom, which will reportedly yield a special Ink pen by the holidays. But thanks to the recent, massive Windows 10 Build 14322 that Microsoft released to its Insider beta testers, we've had a chance to try out several aspects of Windows Ink, including Ink Workspace, Sketchpad, Sticky Notes, and more. Click the new pen icon to launch the Windows Ink Workspace apps. If you haven't actually worked with digital ink before, relax: Windows Ink is an optional way to interact with Windows, in much the same way you can use either voice or keyboard to query Cortana.
