Can AI eliminate bias in banks' hiring decisions?
BOK Financial has spent the last few years refining its recruitment strategy. One motivation is to diversify its employee base. The Tulsa, Okla., company has updated job descriptions to remove gender bias and revamped its interview process to be more structured. It also enhanced its training: In 2016, every recruiter completed a Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter training program run by AIRS, a division of payroll company ADP. BOK rolled out its own six-month diversity and inclusion accreditation program last year, which focuses on understanding inclusion and unconscious bias.
How AI Platforms Are Improving Talent Management In 2020
Bottom Line: Dexcom and Micron adopting a single AI platform for talent management that adapts to their specific HR strategies and provides new insights is delivering significant results. AI-based platforms provide new insights, intelligence and guidance to CHROs and HR leaders, helping them close the growing talent gaps their organizations face. By integrating hiring, internal mobility, diversity & inclusion, contingent workforces, training & development and performance management all on a single AI platform, HR leaders gain greater insights into closing talent gaps. And it's encouraging to see how AI platforms evaluate candidates on their capabilities while anonymizing factors that might lead to hiring bias. Interested in learning more about why AI platforms are gaining adoption, I recently attended a webinar co-hosted by Talent Tech Lab (TTL) and Eightfold.ai The webinar is titled An AI-First Approach to Recruiting with Eightfold and TTL.

"Alexa, help me find a job at McDonald's." That's how interested job seekers can start an application with the global fast-food company, McDonald's recently announced. Claiming it to be the world's first voice-initiated job application process, the company has launched McDonald's Apply Thru, which works on Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. AI Assistant Olivia from Paradox SAP News Center
As competition for top talent in every industry heats up, an award-winning AI assistant named Olivia is stepping in to help recruiters and job candidates speed past antiquated hiring norms. The brainchild of Aaron Matos, co-founder and CEO of Paradox, Olivia is entirely mobile and relies on text messaging to compress the timespan between screening qualified people and hiring dates. "The assistant's job is to get work done, and that's what Olivia focuses on," said Matos. This frees up the recruiter's time for more valuable responsibilities, like talking face-to-face with qualified candidates." Paradox was born out of Matos' obsession with people's feelings about work. "When people love their work, they build great teams and companies can accomplish great things," he said. "I went into HR with that as my mission -- to figure out how to get people to love their work.

Artificial intelligence is the ability of computers performing tasks that would typically have required humans. The aim is to have machines that act and react exactly like humans; we're a long way off from that as computers don't understand emotions, empathy, compassion ...yet! It was Alan Turing in 1950 who asked the question "Can machines think?" That question triggered the quest to find out and also the Turing test, which is a method to determine if a machine is intelligent. Currently, we have AI systems that are powered by machine learning, deep learning and some are powered by simple rules.
Women Leaders in AI: Gail Blum IBM Watson
How are you using Watson in your business? We wanted to improve the candidate experience by creating interactions with job seekers visiting our career site, as well as increase the number of applications we receive for hard-to-fill roles. Watson Candidate Assistant answers general questions about working at NBCUniversal, and it recommends jobs based on keyword matching between openings and the job seeker's resume. Candidates using a traditional job search may look by functional areas or job titles, but that might not match our company's vernacular. We can now drive candidates to roles they might not have found.
Let Siri Do the Selling and People Drive the Change
Companies that are transforming successfully in the digital world understand that technology is important, but it's really about people. Employees must be empowered with the right skills. Not every millennial is tech savvy, and many baby boomers remain flexible and eager to learn. Thanks to machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), more and more tasks in all lines of business are being automated. To differentiate themselves from machines, people will need skills to solve problems that arise when bots can't answer the standard questions.
The Future Is Now, How APIs and Machine Learning Can Change Talent Acquisition
Earlier this week in San Francisco, Jibe participated in a Google press event and the launch of new machine learning APIs for the Google Cloud Platform. Specifically for enterprise HR, Google announced its Google Cloud Jobs API which understands which of a company's jobs best match a jobseeker's preference. For talent acquisition leaders machine learning might seem like something out of a sci-fi movie. Simply put, machine learning is software programs that get smarter and make better recommendations as they are exposed to more data. Examples of machine learning are recommendations for Facebook friends, Netflix movies, AirBnB listings or Amazon products.
