Artificial intelligence (AI) is better at hiring staff than human bosses, but companies still don't trust it in the recruitment process, a new study finds. Researchers in London have conducted a review of previous studies that assessed the effectiveness of AI as a recruitment tool. They found AI is'equal to or better than' human recruiters when it comes to hiring people who go on to perform well at work. Although AI had limited abilities in predicting employee outcomes after they were hired, AI is'fairer' and marked a substantial improvement over humans, they reveal. AI also boosts the'fill-rate' for open positions and is'mostly better than humans' at improving diversity in the workplace.

Ambient computing is all about A.I. and making decisions without human involvement. Ambient computing is a broad term describing an environment of data, smart devices, A.I. decisions, and human activity that allows computer actions alongside daily life, without direct human interventions or commands. Toyota to apply artificial intelligence to boost efficiency in its factories

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) is partnering with Invisible AI to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) in its factories to enhance efficiency and safety. The computer vision platform of the Texas-based company will be installed in 14 Toyota factories in North America. The AI will analyze manufacturing operations to detect any technical issues, revealing the invisible problems to the human eye and cameras and fixing them to improve processes' quality and safety. According to Forbes, Toyota aims to apply computer vision technology to accurately review the assembly process and reduce the time to find inefficiencies. Under the two-year agreement, Toyota factories will be equipped with a system consisting of 500 AI devices using NVIDIA processors and a high-resolution 3D camera to observe operations.
