Memorial Day Dyson Vacuum Deals: V15 Detect, Gen5Detect, PencilVac On Sale
Don't miss these vacuum deals happening over the holiday weekend. Shopping for a Dyson vacuum is an experience. There are many models to navigate and serious price tags on most of them. As someone who tests vacuums for a living, I have to admit that a Dyson blows most other vacuums away. There are a few cheaper models I'll still grab (check out my full guide to cordless and robot vacuums for more recommendations), but if you're dreaming of a Dyson, this weekend is a great time to buy.

A French woman and her partner will remain in custody after allegedly abandoning her two young boys on a roadside in the south of Portugal, a court has ruled. The boys were found on Tuesday evening crying beside a road near Alcacer do Sal, about 100km (60 miles) south of Lisbon. The woman and her partner, identified by authorities as Marine R and Marc B, were arrested in Fatima on Thursday. As they were being led into court on Saturday morning, the man shouted I love you in French and the boys' mother sang. A judge subsequently ordered the pair be placed in pre-trial detention, French and Portuguese media report.

'You can't control everything': the rise in plastic surgeons asked to create 'AI face'
'You can't control everything': the rise in plastic surgeons asked to create'AI face' Growing numbers of people are seeking improbable cosmetic surgery based on chatbots' recommendations Plastic surgeons are increasingly concerned about the rise of "AI face", as more and more clients arrive in their offices with unrealistic AI-generated visions of what they want to look like. Dr Nora Nugent, a cosmetic surgeon from Tunbridge Wells, has seen this first hand. Clients have started coming to her office with photos of themselves beautified by AI and a false expectation that those results are achievable with surgery. She is also the president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, and says many colleagues are having similar experiences. "I can only predict an increase, given the rate AI has been incorporated into every aspect of life," she said.

Quantum 'Jamming' Could Help Unlock the Mysteries of Causality
Quantum'Jamming' Could Help Unlock the Mysteries of Causality To keep communications secure in a post-quantum world, cryptographers are digging down into the concept of cause and effect. For the past few decades, researchers have understood that quantum computers should eventually be able to crack the widely used codes that secure much of the digital world. To protect against this fate, they've spent years developing new codes that appear to be safe from future safecrackers armed with quantum computers. At the same time, they've also devised ingenious ways to use the rules of quantum mechanics to keep communications secure. But quantum mechanics, just like the "classical" mechanics that preceded it, is just a theory of nature.

Zelenskyy says 'time is right' for Ukraine to start process of joining EU
Zelenskyy says'time is right' for Ukraine to start process of joining EU Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has told European Union leaders that now is the time to begin the process of Ukraine's accession to the bloc, describing a proposal for associate membership as "unfair". Zelenskyy said in a letter to EU leaders on Friday that associate membership would leave Ukraine "voiceless" because it would not have voting rights, which would prevent Kyiv from advancing its interests, the Reuters news agency reported. Under Orban, who maintained close ties with Russia, Budapest repeatedly used its veto power to block Ukraine's accession bid and stalled approval of aid for Kyiv. Zelenskyy's push for EU membership comes as both Kyiv and Moscow seek to advance their interests on the battlefield. The head of the Russian-occupied Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine said on Saturday the death toll from a drone attack a day earlier had risen to 10. Vladimir Putin has ordered his forces to respond to the attack, which allegedly hit a student dormitory in the town of Starobilsk.
