CareerBuilder acquired Textkernel, an Amsterdam-based company focused on AI, machine learning and semantic technology designed for matching candidates to jobs. The company said the purchase was part of a wider investment in AI and machine learning. However, the company will also apply its new tools to candidate-facing products. Careerbuilder said Textkernel's capabilities will also help candidates quickly build personalized mobile resumes, suggest more relevant jobs based on their skills and experience and uncover patterns to help job seekers prepare for their next role. The acquisition also strengthens CareerBuilder's data science team by connecting more than 200 data scientists, engineers and AI specialists to work on its Hello To Hire process.
