Classifying artist/album combinations by genre

I'll walk through how I did it and the challenges I faced. Don't expect this to be wildly educational -- it's written more for my benefit than for anyone else's. After publication, I'm hoping to deploy this somewhere where you can put in various inputs and get a predicted genre (which, spoiler alert, probably won't be accurate).
