Artificial intelligence and computer vision improving safety
"The ILO (International Labour Organization) estimates that some 2.3 million women and men around the world succumb to work-related accidents or diseases every year". In the same way I've processed these videos with webcam and Python programming, a simple security camera of a CCTV (closed-circuit television) combined with artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms can detect the use or not of PPE (personal protective equipment) and other hazard scenarios, for example workers on hazardous proximity zone of active heavy equipment. The detection can be used to automatic alerts or to interact with the equipment setting its safety mode, as (smart) equipment are becoming IoTs (internet of things) like devices in Industry 4.0. Artificial intelligence and computer vision algorithms processing images of security cameras of parking lots, roads and streets can similarly improve driver and pedestrian safety.
