AI to create jobs by 2020, says Gartner

Artificial intelligence (AI) will create 2.3 million jobs globally and become a positive "net job motivator" by 2020, according to Gartner Inc. "AI will eliminate more jobs than it creates through 2019, however, Gartner believes that the number of jobs created due to AI in 2020 is sufficient to overcome the deficit," according to the U.S.-based research and advisory company's top ten predictions for 2018. Gartner forecast that AI would eliminate about 1.8 million jobs by 2019. "Net job creation or elimination will vary greatly by industry; some industries will experience overall job loss, some industries will experience net job loss for only a few years; and some industries, such as healthcare and education, will never experience net job loss." AI is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning, reasoning, and self-correction.
