AI analyses breathing during an emergency call to detect a heart attack
During an emergency call, it can be difficult for ambulance call-handlers to understand the severity of the caller's problem. But a new artificial intelligence system is helping ambulance call-handlers in Copenhagen to make more accurate diagnoses on the phone. Corti is an artificial intelligence platform that uses machine learning to make life-saving diagnoses, including heart attacks and strokes. During a live 999 call, the AI applies speech recognition and analysing audio to assess the language, dialect and background noise. It then uses this information to suggest if the caller is suffering from a critical issue.
