A new report has surfaced claiming that that Galaxy S8 will come with facial recognition technology. The long-standing rumor was that Samsung was going to implement its iris scanner technology from the Galaxy Note 7 onto this year's Galaxy S8. However, that will no longer be the case, an unnamed Samsung official told the Korea Economic Daily, as per The Investor. The main reason why Samsung decided to ditch the iris scanner in favor of facial recognition technology was because iris scanning was unreliable in terms of speed.
