Those who know artificial intelligence (AI) only from science fiction were probably surprised by this Guardian op-ed written by the AI GPT-3. "Artificial intelligence will not destroy humans," it says. Whether or not you find this reassuring, AI is now integrated into our daily lives. For example, Siri, Amazon, and Facebook rely on narrow (or weak) AI, focused on specific tasks. General (or strong) AI can do much more, and AI experts now predict that a general AI rivaling or exceeding human intelligence is on its way.
