A Discussion of Model Assumptions

We highlight and discuss several assumptions that we make in our stylized model. While this model implicitly assumes that a user's choice of platform is fully specified by the platforms' choices of predictor (i.e. Implicit in this model is asymmetric information between the model-providers and users. This motivates us to incorporate market reputations into user decisions. See Appendix A for further discussion of this model.
