DECRL: A Deep Evolutionary Clustering Jointed Temporal Knowledge Graph Representation Learning Approach
Temporal Knowledge Graph (TKG) representation learning aims to map temporal evolving entities and relations to embedded representations in a continuous low-dimensional vector space. However, existing approaches cannot capture the temporal evolution of high-order correlations in TKGs. To this end, we propose a Deep Evolutionary Clustering jointed temporal knowledge graph Representation Learning approach (DECRL). Specifically, a deep evolutionary clustering module is proposed to capture the temporal evolution of high-order correlations among entities. Furthermore, a cluster-aware unsupervised alignment mechanism is introduced to ensure the precise one-to-one alignment of soft overlapping clusters across timestamps, thereby maintaining the temporal smoothness of clusters. In addition, an implicit correlation encoder is introduced to capture latent correlations between any pair of clusters under the guidance of a global graph. Extensive experiments on seven real-world datasets demonstrate that DECRL achieves the state-of-the-art performances, outperforming the best baseline by an average of 9.53%, 12.98%, 10.42%, and 14.68% in MRR, Hits@1, Hits@3, and Hits@10, respectively.
Knowledge Graphs: The Future of Data Integration and Insightful Discovery

Knowledge graphs are an efficient method for representing and connecting information across various concepts, useful in reasoning, question answering, and knowledge base completion tasks. They organize data by linking points, enabling researchers to combine diverse information sources into a single database. This interdisciplinary approach helps uncover new research questions and ideas. Knowledge graphs create a web of data points (nodes) and their connections (edges), which enhances navigation, comprehension, and utilization of data for multiple purposes. They capture complex relationships inherent in unstructured data sources, offering a semantic framework for diverse entities and their attributes. Strategies for developing knowledge graphs include using seed data, named entity recognition, and relationship extraction. These graphs enhance chatbot accuracy and include multimedia data for richer information. Creating high-quality knowledge graphs involves both automated methods and human oversight, essential for accurate and comprehensive data representation.
Enhancing Temporal Link Prediction with HierTKG: A Hierarchical Temporal Knowledge Graph Framework

To address this, we propose HierTKG, a framework combining Temporal Graph Networks (TGN) and hierarchical pooling (DiffPool) to model rumor dynamics across temporal and structural scales. HierTKG captures key propagation phases, enabling improved temporal link prediction and actionable insights for misinformation control. Experiments demonstrate its effectiveness, achieving an MRR of 0.9845 on ICEWS14 and 0.9312 on WikiData, with competitive performance on noisy datasets like PHEME (MRR: 0.8802). By modeling structured event sequences and dynamic social interactions, HierTKG adapts to diverse propagation patterns, offering a scalable and robust solution for real-time analysis and prediction of rumor spread, aiding proactive intervention strategies.
Intention Knowledge Graph Construction for User Intention Relation Modeling

Understanding user intentions is challenging for online platforms. Recent work on intention knowledge graphs addresses this but often lacks focus on connecting intentions, which is crucial for modeling user behavior and predicting future actions. This paper introduces a framework to automatically generate an intention knowledge graph, capturing connections between user intentions. Using the Amazon m2 dataset, we construct an intention graph with 351 million edges, demonstrating high plausibility and acceptance. Our model effectively predicts new session intentions and enhances product recommendations, outperforming previous state-of-the-art methods and showcasing the approach's practical utility.
A Contextualized BERT model for Knowledge Graph Completion

Knowledge graphs (KGs) are valuable for representing structured, interconnected information across domains, enabling tasks like semantic search, recommendation systems and inference. A pertinent challenge with KGs, however, is that many entities (i.e., heads, tails) or relationships are unknown. Knowledge Graph Completion (KGC) addresses this by predicting these missing nodes or links, enhancing the graph's informational depth and utility. Traditional methods like TransE and ComplEx predict tail entities but struggle with unseen entities. Textual-based models leverage additional semantics but come with high computational costs, semantic inconsistencies, and data imbalance issues. Recent LLM-based models show improvement but overlook contextual information and rely heavily on entity descriptions. In this study, we introduce a contextualized BERT model for KGC that overcomes these limitations by utilizing the contextual information from neighbouring entities and relationships to predict tail entities. Our model eliminates the need for entity descriptions and negative triplet sampling, reducing computational demands while improving performance. Our model outperforms state-of-the-art methods on standard datasets, improving Hit@1 by 5.3% and 4.88% on FB15k-237 and WN18RR respectively, setting a new benchmark in KGC.
A Survey on Knowledge Graph Structure and Knowledge Graph Embeddings

Knowledge Graphs (KGs) and their machine learning counterpart, Knowledge Graph Embedding Models (KGEMs), have seen ever-increasing use in a wide variety of academic and applied settings. In particular, KGEMs are typically applied to KGs to solve the link prediction task; i.e. to predict new facts in the domain of a KG based on existing, observed facts. While this approach has been shown substantial power in many end-use cases, it remains incompletely characterised in terms of how KGEMs react differently to KG structure. This is of particular concern in light of recent studies showing that KG structure can be a significant source of bias as well as partially determinant of overall KGEM performance. This paper seeks to address this gap in the state-of-the-art. This paper provides, to the authors' knowledge, the first comprehensive survey exploring established relationships of Knowledge Graph Embedding Models and Graph structure in the literature. It is the hope of the authors that this work will inspire further studies in this area, and contribute to a more holistic understanding of KGs, KGEMs, and the link prediction task.
Distance-Adaptive Quaternion Knowledge Graph Embedding with Bidirectional Rotation

Quaternion contains one real part and three imaginary parts, which provided a more expressive hypercomplex space for learning knowledge graph. Existing quaternion embedding models measure the plausibility of a triplet either through semantic matching or geometric distance scoring functions. However, it appears that semantic matching diminishes the separability of entities, while the distance scoring function weakens the semantics of entities. To address this issue, we propose a novel quaternion knowledge graph embedding model. Our model combines semantic matching with entity's geometric distance to better measure the plausibility of triplets. Specifically, in the quaternion space, we perform a right rotation on head entity and a reverse rotation on tail entity to learn rich semantic features. Then, we utilize distance adaptive translations to learn geometric distance between entities. Furthermore, we provide mathematical proofs to demonstrate our model can handle complex logical relationships. Extensive experimental results and analyses show our model significantly outperforms previous models on well-known knowledge graph completion benchmark datasets. In-Context Learning with Topological Information for Knowledge Graph Completion

Knowledge graphs (KGs) are crucial for representing and reasoning over structured information, supporting a wide range of applications such as information retrieval, question answering, and decision-making. However, their effectiveness is often hindered by incompleteness, limiting their potential for real-world impact. While knowledge graph completion (KGC) has been extensively studied in the literature, recent advances in generative AI models, particularly large language models (LLMs), have introduced new opportunities for innovation. In-context learning has recently emerged as a promising approach for leveraging pretrained knowledge of LLMs across a range of natural language processing tasks and has been widely adopted in both academia and industry. However, how to utilize in-context learning for effective KGC remains relatively underexplored. We develop a novel method that incorporates topological information through in-context learning to enhance KGC performance. By integrating ontological knowledge and graph structure into the context of LLMs, our approach achieves strong performance in the transductive setting i.e., nodes in the test graph dataset are present in the training graph dataset. Furthermore, we apply our approach to KGC in the more challenging inductive setting, i.e., nodes in the training graph dataset and test graph dataset are disjoint, leveraging the ontology to infer useful information about missing nodes which serve as contextual cues for the LLM during inference. Our method demonstrates superior performance compared to baselines on the ILPC-small and ILPC-large datasets.
Combining knowledge graphs and LLMs for hazardous chemical information management and reuse

Human health is increasingly threatened by exposure to hazardous substances, particularly persistent and toxic chemicals. The link between these substances, often encountered in complex mixtures, and various diseases are demonstrated in scientific studies. However, this information is scattered across several sources and hardly accessible by humans and machines. This paper evaluates current practices for publishing/accessing information on hazardous chemicals and proposes a novel platform designed to facilitate retrieval of critical chemical data in urgent situations. The platform aggregates information from multiple sources and organizes it into a structured knowledge graph. Users can access this information through a visual interface such as Neo4J Bloom and dashboards, or via natural language queries using a Chatbot. Our findings demonstrate a significant reduction in the time and effort required to access vital chemical information when datasets follow FAIR principles. Furthermore, we discuss the lessons learned from the development and implementation of this platform and provide recommendations for data owners and publishers to enhance data reuse and interoperability. This work aims to improve the accessibility and usability of chemical information by healthcare professionals, thereby supporting better health outcomes and informed decision-making in the face of patients exposed to chemical intoxication risks.
eXpath: Explaining Knowledge Graph Link Prediction with Ontological Closed Path Rules

Link prediction (LP) is crucial for Knowledge Graphs (KG) completion but commonly suffers from interpretability issues. While several methods have been proposed to explain embedding-based LP models, they are generally limited to local explanations on KG and are deficient in providing human interpretable semantics. Based on real-world observations of the characteristics of KGs from multiple domains, we propose to explain LP models in KG with path-based explanations. An integrated framework, namely eXpath, is introduced which incorporates the concept of relation path with ontological closed path rules to enhance both the efficiency and effectiveness of LP interpretation. Notably, the eXpath explanations can be fused with other single-link explanation approaches to achieve a better overall solution. Extensive experiments across benchmark datasets and LP models demonstrate that introducing eXpath can boost the quality of resulting explanations by about 20% on two key metrics and reduce the required explanation time by 61.4%, in comparison to the best existing method. Case studies further highlight eXpath's ability to provide more semantically meaningful explanations through path-based evidence.
