Artificial Intelligence and the Customer Journey

#artificialintelligence

Virtual assistants--like Alexa and Siri--have gained traction in the consumer environment and are likely to continue to spur an uptick in voice-activated search and other customer activities, from purchases to providing feedback to seeking service and support. In short, voice technology can aid consumers at many points along the customer journey. "Digital customer care is on a major upswing with the expectation that 85% of customer relationships with an enterprise will be managed without human contact by 2020, according to Gartner," says Chris Bergh, CEO of DataKitchen Inc., a DataOps consultancy and platform provider. "Conversational AI is critical and plays an integral role in improving customer service, reducing agent-assisted service costs, and cutting down on fraud." Unfortunately, consumer expectations may outpace technological reality at this point, challenging both brands and tech vendors to meet those expectations.

Windows 10: Why it's finally time to upgrade from Windows 7

The revamped, customizable Start menu on Windows 10. The end is near for Windows 7 users: After 10 years, Microsoft will stop supporting the OS on Jan. 14, 2020, which means it's time to upgrade to Windows 10 to keep your PC running smoothly and securely. Some users have been hesitant to make the switch, as the rollout of Windows 10 saw several issues, including a series of bugs that led Microsoft to pull its October 2018 Update days after its release. In April, however, Microsoft laid out several changes to its update approach starting with the May 2019 release, including slower rollouts with additional testing, more options for pausing updates and more disclosure of known issues. Many of the issues are due to the fact that updates are happening more frequently, said Gartner Research analyst Steve Kleynhans.

New dating app blurs out photos of potential matches to encourage users to not focus on looks

Daily Mail - Science & tech

A new dating app will keep the photos of potential matches blurred out to encourage users to focus less on appearances. Called Smore, and co-developed by former Chappy executive Adam Cohen Aslatei, the app was designed to encourage people to focus more on personality and common interests than kneejerk reactions to a person's looks. The app will send users five suggested matches each day, but before users can see the unblurred version of the other person's photos, they'll have to first go through the rest of their profile. Smore will give free users five suggested matches each day, but they won't be able to see a clear photo of their potential match until they've tapped on a number of icons that person has picked to indicate their interests and personality The profiles are mainly composed from emoji-centric tiles that indicate a person's interests and background. These including listing your education background, current mood status, astrological sign, turn ons, deal breakers, and general interests.

AI ready to disrupt the property market

#artificialintelligence

Though Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a hot topic for businesses right now, it has so far failed to shake up the real estate industry and the use of property software in the same way it has transformed sectors such as banking and healthcare. Tom Shrive explains how the sector is ripe for AI disruption, and why this burgeoning tech will not jeopardise jobs. AI is an inescapable buzzword at the moment and has become an essential part of the technology industry. However, the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has not come without controversy, provoking polarized responses from the general public. By definition, artificial intelligence is technology that can perform human-like tasks.

The Guardian

Amazon has a new twist on its popular cut-price Echo Dot smart speaker, now setting its sights squarely on your beleaguered bedside alarm clock with a new LED display embedded in the side. The Echo Dot with Clock is one of those true Ronseal products - it says what it does on the tin. It is literally the same as the excellent third-generation Echo Dot, but is only available in white and has a white LED display showing the time peeking through the fabric side. It's formally priced at £60 – £10 more than the regular Echo Dot – but is frequently discounted to about half that. You get the same four-way buttons on the top: volume up and down, mute for the microphones and an action button.

How AI & Business go Hand-In-Hand? 2Base Technologies

#artificialintelligence

One thing about AI which you can't disagree is that it will reshape how all of us live and even have a deep impact on the work we do. Humanity will benefit to a great extent as people will waste less, live longer, work smarter, have a better understanding and will be able to predict anything which can be measured. However, one needs to be cautious with the benefits and promises AI and other computing technologies bring as there might be a certain risk. These risk can include threats to a job, privacy, security of a nation as well as public safety. Still, it doesn't hamper the extensive growth that artificial intelligence has and still making in today's era. It might be surprising to most people, but reports have shown that countries have taken the advancement and rise of artificial intelligence in the right step.
