Space assistant CIMON heads to ISS to become empathetic AI partner for astronauts ZDNet
The next iteration of a floating, artificially intelligent astronaut assistant is on its way to the International Space Station (ISS). Developed by Airbus in partnership with IBM and the German Aerospace Center, CIMON 2 is the latest model of the robot CIMON, short for Crew Interactive Mobile Companion. The first iteration, CIMON 1, weighed eleven pounds and served as a free-floating AI assistant for astronauts as they completed mission duties in space. The assistant was able to understand what the astronauts were saying in context, as well as the intention behind it. Like tabletop assistants, CIMON 1 could recognize speech and speak with a synthetic voice.

Amazon AI: "The universe has not revealed the answer to me." Well, some slight improvement over last year's responses, when Alexa's answer to the first question was "Do you want to open'this day in history'?" As for the universe, it is an open book for the 120 senior executives featured here, all involved with AI, delivering 2020 predictions for a wide range of topics: Autonomous vehicles, deepfakes, small data, voice and natural language processing, human and augmented intelligence, bias and explainability, edge and IoT processing, and many promising applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies and tools. And there will be even more 2020 AI predictions, in a second installment to be posted here later this month. "Vehicle AI is going to be ...
How is Artificial Intelligence helping Marketers? - Marketing Intelligence Blog - Packed Data Services
We are already aware of that and it is the trending buzzword of the decade which is nonetheless than an Artificial Intelligence(AI). What makes us more indifferent from last where we are and now where we are in the actual implementation of AI in almost every form of our day to day life's, it is already living among us now. Like when we used to think about of an AI, it seems like a robot and whole machinery things who does things according to how well it is programmed and rather than this we have absolutely enjoyed those science fiction movies with those highly advanced AI, the one which is talking to humankind with his own build-up intelligence. That means the AI doesn't restrict to those bulkier machines, it has evolved from those to the smartphone you used and many more. Smartphones that you are definitely experiencing daily, whenever you pick up your smartphone, you're already seeing AI in action--from tailored recommendations to relevant search results.
What is Machine Learning? Types of Machine Learning Algorithms
Machine learning is the concept of using the different sample data model to create a mathematical model to understand the specific task. As machine learning deals with business problems the other name for machine learning is predictive analysis. The Supervised machine learning algorithm, unsupervised algorithm, Semi-supervised algorithm, and reinforcement machine learning algorithm are the algorithms of machine learning which are used to make the computers to learn by experience. There are UG courses, PG courses and online courses for cloud computing. Some of the courses are offered with no eligibility criteria whereas some degree programs with cloud computing demand for entrance exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, VITEEE, IPU CET, SRMJEEE, and MHT CET. Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence are two different concepts used for training machines and learning data from machines with algorithms. Machine learning is one of the applications and a subset of artificial intelligence. An automated learning system with the experience or patterns of examples initiates the process of automated predictions.
How Companies Are Augmenting Human Intelligence With AI
Among fictional buzzwords like "telepathy," "cyberspace," "parallel universe," and so on โ what's undeniably popular and real is "AI" -- artificial intelligence. The idea that a machine can exhibit the same level of intelligence and sentience as a human being has captured much interest today. This idea has increasingly become popular in the workplace: The World Economic Forum forecasts that due to technologies like machines and algorithms, "133 million new jobs [are] expected to be created by 2022 compared to 75 million that will be displaced." A report published by Tractica, showed that AI revenue could grow from $643.7 million in 2016 to $36.8 billion by 2025. These billion-dollar facts could leave a surprisingly awakening question -- is the future going to be AI-oriented, and will humans be left out of it?
10 Exciting Real-World Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Retail
Our core retail experience hasn't changed much in recent years. We go into a store (or to an online portal), we browse through the available options, try them out and make the purchase. Well, that's where the disruptions are happening thanks to artificial intelligence (AI). It has completely transformed the way we handle our retail experience โ both from a customer's perspective as well from a business standpoint. Artificial Intelligence creates an opportunity for retailers to bridge the gap between virtual and physical sales channels. Brands are progressively using Artificial Intelligence to reduce cost, improve efficiency, achieve operational agility and increase the speed of decision making in the retail world. According to IBM's recent study, AI-driven intelligent automation in the retail and consumer products industries is projected to leap from 40 percent of companies today to more than 80 percent in the next three years.
Google is using machine learning to make alarm tones based on the time and weather
Google has an update that might make you hate your alarm a little bit less: a new feature lets it automatically change up what your alarm plays based on the time of day and the weather, theoretically playing something slightly more appropriate than the same awful song you hear day in and out. At least, it'll be nice as long as you're okay with waking up to AI-generated piano. The feature is confined to a single device for now: Lenovo's Smart Clock, a small smart display that basically has the functionality of a Google Home Mini paired with a screen that can show the time and weather. Google says this feature -- which it calls "Impromptu" -- is part of Google Assistant, though, which suggests it should reach other smart displays, and perhaps even phones, in the future. The announcement doesn't say when or whether it'll expand, however.
Unpacking YouTube's Recommender System
Over the past couple of years, YouTube has come under fire for its recommender system, with the media suggesting that it is promoting violent content, or banning LGBT content for violating its terms of service. Seemingly in response to all of this, Google has finally released a paper explaining YouTube's recommender system, including how it makes recommendations and the information it gathers in doing so. The paper, by Zhe Zhao, Lichan Hong, Li Wei, Jilin Chen, Aniruddh Nath, Shawn Andrews, Aditee Kumthekar, Maheswaran Sathiamoorthy, Xinyang Yi, and Ed Chi, discusses some of the problems that common/"normal" recommender systems face, some of the specific ones that a platform as big as YouTube faces, and the architecture they used to create their system. One of the biggest issues the program had to tackle was that of scalability. Basically, no other recommender system has to work with such a large user platform, or with so many individual pieces of content.

And the introductory sentence of the article reads: 'As adults we know Santa Claus isn't real.'
Artificial Intelligence: Stats and Facts You Should Know in 2020
TV shows and fiction aside, the present day examples of basic AI are Google Voice, Cortana, Alexa, Siri and chatbots. However, AI isn't just limited to voice assistants, it's turning tables in other domains and industries as well. Several restaurants for instance have bots for room service, serving food and carrying luggage. Let's take a look at some interesting and mind-bending stats and facts on this prevalent technology to give you a better idea of the direction the market is headed. He said that at a town hall event in San Francisco in January last year and he couldn't be more right. Today we have robots to help differently-abled people dress up.
