Iran-linked hackers leak Israeli gay dating app chats after million-dollar ransom isn't met
A group of hackers linked to Iran started leaking Tuesday what they claimed are private messages and information from a popular gay dating app in Israel. The hackers, known as Black Shadow, said they were posting personal information from users of the app Atraf because the $1 million digital-currency ransom demand they made on Sunday had gone unmet, according to The Jerusalem Post. Nobody send us money,' Black Shadow purportedly posted on Telegram. 'This is not the end, we have more plan.' The hackers posted purported screenshots showing a representative agreeing to pay $500,000 to the blackmailers, though CyberServe has denied negotiating with Black Shadow.
From The Terminator To Astro: The Changing Face of Artificial Intelligence Shaping Our World
If you were asked to say what technologies you think have had the biggest impact on shaping our world, what would your answers be? Some examples that would likely feature might include electricity, the telephone, the computer and so on. Last time I asked students this question the most common response was wifi. Back in 1995 if you wanted to surf/work/learn on the internet you'd need to be tethered to a network cable (I still see some organisations working like this today). To anyone under the age of 45 wifi is generally given the same status as any wider utility, with the speed of broadband connectivity now forming a major part of the buying decision when people look at new homes.

Amazon Alexa could soon hear the Xbox starting and give kids chores instead
Amazon is adding new features to Alexa that would allow the smart assistant to listen for the sound of kids turning on an Xbox, and automatically give them a chore list. The latest move is part of a series of measures by Amazon designed to make it more'passive', having it do more automatically without human intervention. Speaking at Web Summit 2021, which is being held in Lisbon this week, Tom Taylor, Senior Vice President of the Alexa division, said the firm wants people to have to talk to Alexa less. One of the new features taking it in this direction involves'passive sounds,' made from audio files people record around their own home that then trigger a Routine. 'Lets say you are a parent and want to make sure your kids do their chores,' he explained.
Amazon Wants Users to Have 'Less' Talk With Alexa
Amazon is trying to find ways how users could stop talking so much to its AI voice assistant. According to the company official, many people would be surprised since the tech giant wants its customers to interact with Alexa less. On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Alexa's senior vice president Tom Taylor announced more about the capability of artificial intelligence to incorporate in many devices, according to CNBC's report. "We believe that the future of consumer technology is ambient intelligence, which uses AI to weave together devices and intelligent services," Taylor stated during the Web Summit tech conference in Lisbon. At the time, many companies were exploring effective methods on how to enhance their voice assistants.
What are the Potential Uses of Synthetic Speech of AI?
Speech synthesis is a computer-generated production of audible human words. The voices which you hear on hardware products like Google Home, Amazon Echo, GPS, and e-book are quite fast and cheap for many tech companies to create but they are not original and realistic in a true sense. But in the same context, artificial intelligence or AI operates a bit differently. AI voice uses deep learning to create higher-quality synthetic speech that more accurately imitates the pitch, tone, and pace of real human voice. There are many potential advantages of synthetic speech, AI voice has a myriad of use cases let's see a few. Few companies such as Papercup are using AI voice to translate videos by generating voices that sound like the original speaker for translation.

The Impact of Batch Learning in Stochastic Bandits
Provodin, Danil, Gajane, Pratik, Pechenizkiy, Mykola, Kaptein, Maurits
We consider a special case of bandit problems, namely batched bandits. Motivated by natural restrictions of recommender systems and e-commerce platforms, we assume that a learning agent observes responses batched in groups over a certain time period. Unlike previous work, we consider a more practically relevant batch-centric scenario of batch learning. We provide a policy-agnostic regret analysis and demonstrate upper and lower bounds for the regret of a candidate policy. Our main theoretical results show that the impact of batch learning can be measured in terms of online behavior. Finally, we demonstrate the consistency of theoretical results by conducting empirical experiments and reflect on the optimal batch size choice.
Top AI Speakers To Get Inspired By
When humans invented the concept of AI years ago, the end goal was to stimulate human-like intelligence. Little did they know that AI would turn out to be a breakthrough in the realm of technology. When a non-techie is subjected to the word "AI", his thought goes straight to digital assistants like Siri, Google Maps, a chatbot they conversed with while ordering food online, or even self-driving cars like Tesla. What they fail to understand is that AI goes way beyond that. From helping in fraud detection to diagnosing symptoms of some deadly illness, AI does not leave any stone unturned in helping mankind.
