THE AI DISRUPTION BUNDLE: The guide to understanding how artificial intelligence is impacting the world
This is a preview of a research report bundle from BI Intelligence, Business Insider's premium research service. To learn more about BI Intelligence, click here. AI is the future of technology. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have even publicly debated whether or not that will turn out to be a good thing. Voice assistants like Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa have become more and more prominent in our lives, and that will only increase as they learn more skills.
Ambient Intelligence - The Ultimate IoT Use Cases IoT For All
An Ambient Intelligence revolution is coming. In the past ten years, we've witnessed an astonishing mobile computing revolution. Smartphone installation base is expected to reach 6 billion by 2020, according to research firm IHS Markit. Over half of the world's population are carrying personal devices that have powerful processors, sensors, cameras, high speed communications and intelligent applications. In the next ten years, an Ambient Intelligence (AmI) revolution is coming where all the above technologies will be embedded in our homes, grocery stores, offices, hospitals and transportation services. AmI will be one of the key elements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Magic Ingredient for Driving AI Success
Everyone is talking about AI, but what about the magic ingredient that makes AI intelligent in the first place? If you're plugged into the business and tech world, it's almost impossible to escape the coverage of artificial intelligence (AI). From everyone's favorite personal assistant Siri to Tesla's AI-powered Autopilot, businesses across the globe are diving head first into new projects involving AI. The enthusiasm surrounding AI extends beyond the business world as well. In the public space, AI has captured the hearts and minds of millions of consumers across the globe.

Cortana can command your smart home devices on Windows 10
Now that Google has unveiled the new additions to its Home speaker lineup and Sonos has launched its own Alexa-enabled device, Microsoft seriously has to hurry up if it wants its assistant to have a shot at finding a place in our homes. Even though we may finally be close to seeing the Cortana-enabled Harman Kardon Invoke speaker arrive in stores, Microsoft is still lagging behind its rivals in the smart home race. The company may be trying to catch up, and has added a new "Connected Home" section to the Cortana Notebook menu in some Windows 10 PCs. You should see a new item called Connected Home. After you enable this, Cortana can connect to smart home services like Hue, SmartThings, Nest, Insteon and Wink.
Why You Should Start an AI Company Today – aiden.ai
Bigger than electricity, bigger than the internet, experts say. AI is already omnipresent in our everyday lives: When Netflix recommends you should watch Jane the Virgin and Silicon Valley (Any resemblances to what I really watch on Netflix is a coincidence), that's a form of AI i.e. an algorithm that learns from your tastes and predicts what you are most likely to enjoy watching next. Your vacuum cleaner is powered by AI. And if you live in China, even your toilet paper dispenser runs on AI! In the workplace, artificial intelligence is evolving into intelligent assistants to help us work smarter, but also into drones that deliver the things we order on Amazon and of course into self driving vehicles (today, planes are mostly flown by AI already).
Ingage: Conversational Interfaces Transforming Computing
Many companies are now embracing conversational interfaces and for good reason. For one thing, conversational interfaces are truly cross-platform and work across smart-phones, desktops, smartwatches and integrate well with services like Twitter, Facebook, and Google. Another factor is the significant strides in natural language technology in recent years. For example, earlier in May 2017, Google CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that the word error rate of Google Assistant is currently at an all-time low of 4.9%, down from 8.5% in July 2016. Ultimately, the opportunity is very exciting.
AI vs Machine Learning (Computer Business Review)
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are terms that are currently filling the air in the tech world and across a range of industries, as plans for massive disruption begin to take shape. Both technologies are set to be central to the future, particularly in critical fields such as cybersecurity, and the financial services. Technology is developing at a gallop, and an ever widening skills gap is causing concern, driving the need for technology to fill in for the lack of human skills. However, it is common that the two terms are haphazardly thrown together under the banner of automation, or simply used together without distinction. Because of this, CBR is setting out to find out the main differences, what they are best applied to, and who is standing out in each of the popular spaces.
Mattel scraps plan for digital assistant for kids
In January, Mattel announced that it was developing a child-friendly smart assistant to take on Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri. But the toy giant has said this week that the plans have been scrapped following complaints from privacy groups and lawmakers. Several activist groups and at least two US lawmakers said Aristotle threatened to undermine privacy and could open up children to marketers, hackers and other threats. In January, Mattel announced that it was developing a child-friendly smart assistant to take on Amazon's Alexa and Apple's Siri. Deemed the'world's first smart baby monitor', Aristotle could order diapers, read children bedtime stories, sing lullabies and teach them a second language.
Artificial Intelligence for Digital Payments Security
– Digital wallets are becoming the new way to pay. Most interesting factor here is to know companies who are most successful in this field actually came out of payment industry with no prior knowledge or payment intelligence but rather came with Artificial Intelligence. How to pay and where to pay, when to pay etc. Disrupted the most unknown and unsecured payment methods like contactless payment systems. Does any one ask any question from these ventures weather their suggested methods are safer, secured or how much vulnerable than chip-enabled plastic cards, and what it might take for contactless systems to be used as widely as cash. How the data or sensitive data of a customer been treated and used in their systems.
