Seven apps and tools to organize your life

Popular Science

These days, every phone comes with its own digital helper. But even if you have access to Google Assistant or Siri, you should consider using Cortana as well, particularly if you work with multiple devices or own a Windows 10 computer. Just download the app, sign in with your Microsoft account, and let her organize your life. Cortana can take notes, write lists, and set task reminders. The latter can ping you at particular times of day or when you reach certain locations--for example, you might get an alert to buy flowers as soon as you pass your favorite flower shop.

Amazon Echo goes on sale in Australia and New Zealand next month

Engadget

At the tail end of 2017, Amazon announced that both its unlimited music service and Echo speaker would head to 28 more countries. This packaged expansion seems to be their theme in 2018, as the company stated both would be coming to Australia and New Zealand early in the new year. Today, it confirmed that Amazon Music Unlimited would launch in those countries on February 1st with Echoes on sale at select retailers early that month. While the rollout might be good for Australians and New Zealanders who want Echoes for themselves, it'll be harder for Amazon to wean them off other music streaming services, like Spotify, which has been available in Australia since 2012. At the least, Amazon Music Unlimited is priced competitively.

The Short Trip from Analytics to Artificial Intelligence Blog

#artificialintelligence

Decades of popular science fiction have painted artificial intelligence (AI) as futuristic, mysterious and sometimes campy โ€“ on track to become reality around the same time bankers begin driving hover cars to work. Yet AI is now reaching buzzword status, and there's not a hover car in sight. The recent interest in AI could feel like a sudden and disjointed trend โ€“ an alluring concept without the technology to support its promises. In reality, AI is the next logical step in a long progression of innovations, in banking and across all other industries. The basic foundation for AI is already in place. And as advancements continue at a rapid pace, new capabilities will alter the way businesses serve their customers โ€“ and the way customers expect to be served.

The new SuperFriends

I have nice memories from my early years, having a truly funny time seeing the superheroes cartoons. However, when they really caught me, was when they leave their lonely avengers personality and they starting to do work in group, like a team. The first of them that I saw, was the fantastic 4, where the elasticity, invisibility, strength and the fire, although it can be used by separated, at combining they became in a super powerful force that no one enemy will can to defeat. The same thing happens with the Justice League: ability, superforce, prowess, intelligence, communication capabilities, was a kit that ensure the success of any mission. More over, when one of them stay alone, generally the problems begun.

People are increasingly reliant on artificial intelligence (AI) -- that is, the machines, systems or applications that are capable of performing tasks that, until recently, could only be performed by a human. Think of your morning routine: maybe a Google Assistant checks your calendar and reminds you of your meetings. Then you survey Twitter, which uses algorithms to curate what you see -- the latest about Trump, trade and technology rise to the top. And at the end of it all, when you settle in for some Netflix, your profile suggests a few thrillers you're likely to binge-watch. Marketing statistics reveal that some 57 percent of consumers expect voice-activated smart assistants to have a major or moderate impact on their daily lives by 2020.
