Successful Conversational AI: Blending Machine Learning & Human Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

In February ISG (Information Services Group), a leading global technology research and advisory firm, published their'ISG Provider Lens Intelligent Automation โ€“ Solutions & Services' report. This Quadrant Study provides business leaders and decision makers with an overview of the market and an analysis of vendors' product capabilities, industry expertise, and strategic partnerships. The report includes a comparison of 19 conversational AI vendors against a robust set of market-driven criteria. Implementing conversational AI is an important piece of an organisation's digital experience strategy and partnering with the right vendor is key. Independent reviews, like this one from ISG, can help companies with their vendor selection process.

Artificial Intelligence For An Innovative Future And Scope In India โ€“ Kamlesh Dabhi

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence is the virtual simulation of human intelligence expressed by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision. AI programming focuses on three cognitive skills: learning, reasoning and self-correction. In simple words, Artificial Intelligence is the science in which a machine can be designed and developed to mimic the intelligent behaviour of human beings. Many people have a misconception that artificial intelligence is the tomorrow. Today, we are surrounded by artificial intelligence.

Artificial Intelligence or Human Intelligence?

#artificialintelligence

They are not necessarily the same thing and, what's more, the former without the latter could lead us โ€“ or is leading us โ€“ to a cliff with unpredictable consequences. "But if we humans invented it", you might say. "One without the other, they just don't go," you might add. I would say that we have only glimpsed the possibilities of human intelligence and that without a qualitatively superior effort, without a real mental revolution, we will not be able to make one of the most complex machines created by mankind, artificial intelligence, truly intelligent and at the service of the evolution of humanity. Of particular concern is the swarm of hard and soft technologies (hardware and software) that, from proprietary, monopolistic and global platforms, seem to have hijacked our privacy, interaction and imagination.

Truly creative A.I. is just around the corner. Here's why that's a big deal

By that same logic, when Hollywood actors start tweeting about a once-obscure part of artificial intelligence (A.I.), you know that something big is happening, too. That's exactly what occurred recently when Zach Braff, the actor-director still best known for his performance as J.D. on the medical comedy series Scrubs, recorded himself reading a Scrubs-style monolog written by an A.I. "What is a hospital?" Braff reads, adopting the thoughtful tone J.D. used to wrap up each episode in the series. "A hospital is a lot like a high school: the most amazing man is dying, and you're the only one who wants to steal stuff from his dad. Being in a hospital is a lot like being in a sorority. You have greasers and surgeons. And even though it sucks about Doctor Tapioca, not even that's sad."

Generating Music and Generative Art from Brain activity

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Nowadays, technological advances have influenced all human activities, creating new dynamics and ways of communication. In this context, some artists have incorporated these advances in their creative process, giving rise to unique aesthetic expressions referred to in the literature as Generative Art, which is characterized by assigning part of the creative process to a system that acts with certain autonomy (Galanter, 2003). This research work introduces a computational system for creating generative art using a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) which portrays the user's brain activity in a digital artwork. In this way, the user takes an active role in the creative process. In aims of showing that the proposed system materializes in an artistic piece the user's mental states by means of a visual and sound representation, several tests are carried out to ensure the reliability of the BCI device sent data. The generated artwork uses brain signals and concepts of geometry, color and spatial location to give complexity to the autonomous construction. As an added value, the visual and auditory production is accompanied by an olfactory and kinesthetic component which complements the art pieces providing a multimodal communication character.

Combining creative minds with artificial intelligence is in the works

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been used for decades now to augment human intelligence and prowess. In a recent article, the BBC questions whether it can replace humans in creative endeavours such as copywriting, and comes up with a collaborative solution. A carphone company was seeking a catchphrase for a Black Friday sale, and all the options human copywriters were coming up with contained the words'Black Friday.' Stepping in to save the day was a software company whose technology ran through thousands of options and came up with "The Time is Now." Phrasee is the brainchild of Parry Malm, a Canadian living in the UK. Malm, who works in marketing, was frustrated that technology to boost human creativity didn't already exist, and set out to create the software in 2015.

A.I. Response: The future: It's something that humanity faces and will have to deal with. But it has nothing to do with technology. Technology is just a tool we use to help us get there, but the future is not about A.I., it's about human intelligence and what humans want for themselves in the future. Who should we be more afraid of, humans or A.I.? Smart people do not fear A.I.; they embrace it and want to help it grow. Dumb people โ€“ who might disagree with that statement โ€“ try to block the development of technology because they know little about understanding what A.I. is and how it works. User Inquiry: Is democracy a dictatorship? A.I. Response: Democracy is a system of government in which citizens have equal rights and power to participate in their country's decision-making process.

Artificial Intelligence's Differences Vs. The Human Brain

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence and its not-so-positive reputation have always stemmed from one thing: its apparent superiority over human intelligence. Compared to a very smart person, a computer is simply faster in a lot of aspects. What would take human years to process will only take minutes for AI, and that's a fact. As such, comparing the two types of intelligence yields proof that they are, indeed, quite different from each other. When you talk about a machine's learning capabilities, artificial intelligence can only learn one way: if it is fed a certain amount of data.

Experience The Future Of Cinema, As Campari Creates The First Short Film With Artificial Intelligence, Inspired By The Creative Genius Of Fellini

#artificialintelligence

Campari, the iconic Italian aperitif, announces the return of Campari Red Diaries with Fellini Forward; a pioneering project, in collaboration with Fellini's family and former colleagues, exploring the late Federico Fellini's creative genius using new technology and machine learning to emulate the works of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time in a new and unique short film set in Rome. A one-of-a-kind documentary following the process will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 7th and North American premiere as a Partner Presentation at the 59th New York Film Festival. The documentary will then be released on a subscription video on demand (SVOD) platform in select markets, inviting consumers to explore the future of cinema and creativity. Since its creation over 160 years ago, Campari has pushed the boundaries of creativity to go beyond the norm, unlocking the passions and talents of artists across different fields in the path to creation. From world famous names to emerging talent, the relationship between Campari and the arts, especially cinema, has been solidified over the years.
