Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence: Volume 1 (Introduction to Artificial Intelligence): 9798795777597: Computer Science Books @ Amazon.com
Dr. Nisha Talagala is a world-renowned computer scientist and an expert in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The inspiration to write this book started with her experiences sharing the power of AI technology with her then 9 year old daughter. She found that there were not many resources available for kids to learn and interact with AIs in a way that is engaging and not intimidating. She found that, with the right tools and approach, kids can learn AI, become empowered, and create amazing innovations. Just like computer science and coding is an integral part of learning today, AI is required learning for all the professionals of tomorrow.

Amazon.com: Building Computer Vision Projects with OpenCV 4 and C++: Implement complex computer vision algorithms and explore deep learning and face detection: 9781838644673: Millan Escriva, David, Joshi, Prateek, G. Mendonca, Vinicius, Shilkrot, Roy: Books
This Learning Path is your guide to understanding OpenCV concepts and algorithms through real-world examples and activities. Through various projects, you'll also discover how to use complex computer vision and machine learning algorithms and face detection to extract the maximum amount of information from images and videos. In later chapters, you'll learn to enhance your videos and images with optical flow analysis and background subtraction. Sections in the Learning Path will help you get to grips with text segmentation and recognition, in addition to guiding you through the basics of the new and improved deep learning modules. By the end of this Learning Path, you will have mastered commonly used computer vision techniques to build OpenCV projects from scratch.
Technology: Facial recognition is on the rise โ but the law is lagging a long way behind
Melbourne/Canberra: Private companies and public authorities are quietly using facial recognition systems around Australia. Despite the growing use of this controversial technology, there is little in the way of specific regulations and guidelines to govern its use. Spying on shoppers We were reminded of this fact recently when consumer advocates at CHOICE revealed that major retailers in Australia are using the technology to identify people claimed to be thieves and troublemakers. There is no dispute about the goal of reducing harm and theft. But there is also little transparency about how this technology is being used.

New โ Amazon SageMaker Ground Truth Now Supports Synthetic Data Generation
Today, I am happy to announce that you can now use Amazon SageMaker Ground Truth to generate labeled synthetic image data. Building machine learning (ML) models is an iterative process that, at a high level, starts with data collection and preparation, followed by model training and model deployment. And especially the first step, collecting large, diverse, and accurately labeled datasets for your model training, is often challenging and time-consuming. Let's take computer vision (CV) applications as an example. CV applications have come to play a key role in the industrial landscape.
IKEA launches AI-powered design experience (no Swedish meatballs included)
We are excited to bring Transform 2022 back in-person July 19 and virtually July 20 - 28. Join AI and data leaders for insightful talks and exciting networking opportunities. For IKEA, the latest in digital transformation is all about home design driven by artificial intelligence (AI) โ minus the home furnishing and decor retailer's famous Swedish meatballs. Today, it launched IKEA Kreativ, a design experience meant to bridge the ecommerce and in-store customer journeys, powered by the latest AI developments in spatial computing, machine learning and 3D mixed reality technologies. Available in-app and online, IKEA Kreativ's core technology was developed by Geomagical Labs, an IKEA retail company, which Ingka Group (the holding company that controls 367 stores of 422 IKEA stores) acquired in April 2020. IKEA Kreativ is the next step in IKEA's long journey towards digital transformation.
Amazon has a plan to make Alexa mimic anyone's voice
Amazon.com wants to give customers the chance to make Alexa, the company's voice assistant, sound just like their grandmother -- or anyone else. The online retailer is developing a system to let Alexa mimic any voice after hearing less than a minute of audio, said Rohit Prasad, an Amazon senior vice president, at a conference the company held in Las Vegas Wednesday. The goal is to "make the memories last" after "so many of us have lost someone we love" during the pandemic, Prasad said. This could be due to a conflict with your ad-blocking or security software. Global Big Data Conference
Today, IKEA is launching a new AI-driven interactive design experience called IKEA Kreativ for IKEA.com and the IKEA app. With the new feature, U.S. customers can design and visualize their own living spaces with digitalized furniture on their smartphones instead of traveling to the brick-and-mortar store where they are likely to be distracted by the warehouse-shaped labyrinth of showrooms, blue shopping bags and Swedish meatballs. Currently, the IKEA Kreativ feature is available on iOS devices and desktops. It will be coming to Android devices later this summer. The AI (Artificial Intelligence) experience is expected to launch in additional countries in September. However, there are no exact launch dates.
Visual inspection automation using Amazon SageMaker JumpStart
According to Gartner, hyperautomation is the number one trend in 2022 and will continue advancing in future. One of the main barriers to hyperautomation is in areas where we're still struggling to reduce human involvement. Intelligent systems have a hard time matching human visual recognition abilities, despite great advancements in deep learning in computer vision. This is mainly due to the lack of annotated data (or when data is sparse) and in areas such as quality control, where trained human eyes still dominate. Another reason is the feasibility of human access in all areas of the product supply chain, such as quality control inspection on the production line.
