'Pacific Rim: Uprising' Review: A Big, Loud Movie That Needs Guillermo del Toro
The same goes for Uprising's talk of the strange scientific properties of kaiju blood and the importance of banding together at the end of the world, which can feel like a strong case for un-canceling the apocalypse. Sequels are never going to be truly original--canonical consistency is the entire point--but any subsequent installments in a franchise should at least try to further the lore, and I'm fairly certain the only new thing I learned in Uprising was that tapping into kaiju brains can get you so high you'll want to marry a kaiju brain.

First-ever video footage of anglerfish mating
In the darkness of the deep sea, there are all sorts of strange activities that have never before been seen by human eyes. With a lifeless gaze, a dangling bioluminescent protrusion that juts from their face, and a gaping mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth, anglerfish may be among the best representations of the peculiarities thousands of feet beneath the surface. And, their mating habits are fittingly bizarre. Anglerfish engage in what's known as sexual parasitism; the male latches onto the female and slowly fuses with her body until the two have formed a permanent pair, with the male supplying sperm to his mate while simultaneously receiving nutrients. Now, in what's said to be a'rare and important' discovery, scientists have captured footage of live anglerfish mating for the first time, according to an exclusive report in Science Magazine.
[P] Simple Keras implementation of Face Alignment (basis of DeepFakes) โข r/MachineLearning
Doesn't look like you're using any data augmentation, even though you're fitting to a generator? I'd be interested to see how you'd augment both the images and the ground-truth coordinates, because I didn't think keras did that (I've only seen examples for classification or segmentation problems, not localisation).
Exploring DeepFakes โ Hacker Noon
In December 2017, a user named "DeepFakes" posted realistic looking explicit videos of famous celebrities on Reddit. He generated these fake videos using deep learning, the latest in AI, to insert celebrities' faces into adult movies. In the following weeks, the internet exploded with articles about the dangers of face swapping technology: harassing innocents, propagating fake news, and hurting the credibility of video evidence forever. In this post, I explore the capabilities of this tech, describe how it works, and discuss potential applications. DeepFakes offers the ability to swap one face for another in an image or a video.
[D] LSTM for predicting events โข r/MachineLearning
Interestingly enough you might want to look into some RL research for game specific applications. It's usually done using a value iteration methodology to track rewards over time in a game. A successful RL agent will have to have some predictive ability about the environment/opponent's strategies, so even though it's not exactly what you are looking for, with some manipulation to the ideas in that literature you might be able to come up with something that is of use to you. As an aside, LSTMs while incredibly powerful, may not be a good starting point. Perhaps it would be more functional to start off simpler and ramp into an LSTM if you feel that it is necessary.
How AI is revolutionising the entertainment industry - Zoodikers Consulting
The outstanding scientist and academic Stephen Hawking once said, "The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race". When such high-profile intellects discuss AI in this manner, it often sparks fear among the public and drastically influences their opinions on AI. Although Stephen Hawking's statement could to some extent be true, the human race is still so far from achieving full artificial intelligence, and not to mention if/when we do, there will be strict regulations to ensure the application of AI is safe, responsible and beneficial to us. AI is pervading our personal lives in more ways than you realise. Increasingly, people are turning to chatbots such as Siri to carry out tasks for ease and simplicity, from emailing a colleague to getting directions to the nearest petrol station.
AI Meets Localization
Taryn Southern, a well-known YouTube star and musician, became interested in how AI could enhance her listeners' experience and personalize their music discoveries. Spotify for instance, uses collaborative filtering to collect as much data as they can regarding a listener's music preferences and then compares this data to data collected on other users. Pandora uses a combination of human expertise and algorithms โ experts tag various songs with a multitude of tags, such as music genre, artist name, and language. Then, when a listener selects a particular song or artist, the algorithm then matches this selection to these characteristics and suggests "radio stations" that the listener will likely enjoy. Southern also loves how AI enhances her musical creative process and explains that part of the charm of using AI in her music development is the creative control she is afforded.
What is IBM Watson? โ Level Up! โ Medium
Recent tech news report that IBM's Watson has already been employed as a dress designer, a chef, and a movie director. But what is it exactly? IBM Watson is a question answering computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language based on cognitive computing. To replicate a human's ability to answer questions, Watson accesses 90 servers with a combined data store of over 200 million pages of information, which it processes against six million logic rules. You might also want to watch official IBM's video about how Watson works: Please press the clap button and help others find this story. Did you know you could give up to 50 claps?
Deadly Crash Raises Questions About Uber Self-Driving System
Tempe Police Chief Sylvia Moir has told the San Francisco Chronicle that the SUV likely wouldn't be found at fault. But two experts who viewed the video told The Associated Press that the SUV's sensors should have spotted the 49-year-old woman and her bicycle in time to brake. They said it appears there was enough time and distance to avoid the collision.
