SparkCognition Raises 6M For AI-Driven Cybersecurity Software

Austin-based SparkCognition, a startup applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to the cybersecurity market, has raised 6M in a Series B funding round. The funding came from CME Ventures, Verizon Ventures, The Entrepreneurs' Fund (TEF), and Alameda Ventures. The startup--led by Amir Husain--said the Series B was oversusbcribed. SparkCognition says it has developed machine learning technology which it is applying to both Internet-of-Things (IoT) and cyber security, to automatically detect and identify attacks in IoT infrastructure.

California: Internet giant Google has asserted that its Artificial Intelligence(AI) and cloud computing is the most lucrative and promising businesses in the tech industry. That AI type of service-based business is fast becoming the new way to reap profits in the tech industry, the California-based tech giant said. Artificial intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software. It is also the name of the academic field of study which studies how to create computers and computer software that are capable of intelligent behaviour.

Visual Doom AI Competition @ CIG 2016

Even though more than 20 years have passed since Doom's release, the methods for developing AI bots have not improved significantly in newer FPS productions. The participants of the Visual Doom AI competition are supposed to submit a controller (C, Python, or Java) that plays Doom. Although the participants are allowed to use any technique to develop a controller, the design and efficiency of the Visual Doom AI environment allows and encourages participants to use machine learning methods such as reinforcement deep learning. Each game will be repeated 12 times for track 1 and 4 times for track 2, which involves three maps.


World's first AI investment robot unveiled

InnoTREE, a Chinese Internet-based equity financing and investment service provider, said it has produced the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) robot for investment purposes, the China Business Times reported on Tuesday. Teng Fang, co-founder of InnoTREE, said an AI investment robot can process the equivalent of 40 hours of work by a senior analyst in one hour. "In terms of its cognitive abilities, the AI investment robot is capable of replacing an investment manager with three to four years of work experience." In addition, the AI investment robot can analyze and model statistics data obtained from the comprehensive evaluation of projects, and list companies with the most potential through model operation, it was added.
