'Power Rangers' Trailer Reveals Bryan Cranston's Zordon And The Megazord [VIDEO]

International Business Times

It's not just the Rangers who are looking a little different these days. The newest "Power Rangers" trailer is here, and it shows off more footage from the superhero flick. Longtime fans will be interested in the appearance of Zordon. The trailer, released Thursday, is the first time audiences have seen the rebooted version of Zordon, who is played by "Breaking Bad" alum Bryan Cranston. In the original, he appeared as a big, floating face above the Rangers.

'Power Rangers' fans respond to new Alpha 5 design with a resounding 'no'

Los Angeles Times

It's no secret that the new "Power Rangers" film is a departure from the original TV series, and the concept art for the movie's new Alpha 5 serves as further confirmation. Even fans who thought the updated looks for Rita, the Rangers' suits and the Zords gave them adequate mental preparation for any other redesigns probably couldn't refrain from a quick "Ay yi yi yi yi" after seeing the new Alpha. Revealed by IGN, this new take on the Power Rangers ally is more than a bit of a departure from the character's original look. In the TV series, Alpha was Zordon's panicky but devoted robotic assistant who served as the Rangers' advisor and friend. While the new Alpha retains the gold saucer-shaped helmet as well as the red body, not much else is recognizable.

Bryan Cranston is headed back to the "Power Rangers" franchise. The actor has been cast to play Zordon in the upcoming Lionsgate reboot. Before Cranston was making meth with friends on "Breaking Bad," he previously found voice work on the air-punching, alien-fighting "Power Rangers" series. Cranston previously revealed that not only did he lend his voice to the original "Power Rangers" TV series, but Blue Ranger's name (Billy Cranston) was named after him. Cranston even teased the connection in his tweet confirming his new role.
