YouPorn launches personalized weekly video playlists powered by machine learning
Adult entertainment hub YouPorn is taking a leaf out of Spotify's book with a new weekly playlist that uses "industry-leading machine learning systems" to serve up suggested videos for users. YouPorn is one of the most visited pornography websites in the world and is among the most visited websites overall, with a current Alexa ranking of 203. It claims around 1 billion video views per month. The company is touting its new personalized video collections as something akin to Discover Weekly, a popular playlist delivered to Spotify users that's built on big data and deep learning. Called "For You Weekly," YouPorn's new video collections will be available for logged-in users only, but the company promises they will be personalized for each individual user based on their activities and other preferences.

Identifying planets with machine learning, dirty AI searches, and OpenAI scholarships
There is new code to play around with for those interested in machine learning and space, a model that predicts hilarious search trends for sex site YouPorn, and another funny story about an ostensibly intelligent medical chatbot in New Zealand. Hunting exoplanets with ML – The machine learning code that a Google engineer and an astrophysicist used to detect exoplanets has been published online. Christopher Shallue, a senior software engineer at Google, and Andrew Vanderburg, a postdoctoral fellow studying astrophysics at the University of Texas, USA, discovered another planet lurking in the Kepler-90 system. It was a special find. Not only was it spotted using a convolutional neural network, but it meant that the Solar System was no longer the biggest planetary system found so far.

YouPorn used AI to predict the porn searches of the future and, um, brace yourselves
Using artificial intelligence to create new content is all the rage, and now YouPorn has gotten in on the act with an experiment that's produced some truly weird results. Neural networks are hot stuff these days having been used for fun things like writing bad Christmas carols and horror stories. Now YouPorn has trained one to predict what online porn's hottest trends will be in the months to come, based on current search trends. Prepare yourself: The results are, ahem, interesting and very NSFW, to say the least. You can check out the entire list, based on the work of the neural network and "data science and machine learning teams," below.
