Fox News AI Newsletter: The school where AI runs the classroom
Alpha School co-founder Mackenzie Price and a junior at the school Elle Kristine join'Fox & Friends' to discuss the benefits of incorporating artificial intelligence into the classroom. Alpha School uses AI-powered software and devices like these to deliver personalized instruction in just two hours of classroom time per day. TOP OF THE CLASS: At a time when many American students are struggling to keep up, a private school in Texas is doing more with less, much less. At Alpha School, students spend just two hours a day in class, guided by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tutor. But results are impressive: students are testing in the top 1 to 2% nationally.

China's EV giants are betting big on humanoid robots
According to statistics from Shenzhen New Strategy Media's Industrial Research Institute, there were over 160 humanoid-robot manufacturers worldwide as of June 2024, of which more than 60 were in China, more than 30 in the United States, and about 40 in Europe. In addition to having the largest number of manufacturers, China stands out for the way its EV sector is backing most of these robotics companies. Thanks in part to substantial government subsidies and concerted efforts from the tech sector, China has emerged as the world's largest EV market and manufacturer. In 2024, 54% of cars sold in China were electric or hybrid, compared with 8% in the US. China also became the first nation to reach an annual production of 10 million "new energy vehicles" (NEVs), a category that includes all vehicles powered partly or entirely by electricity.

Elon Musk Can't Solve Tesla's China Crisis With His Desperate Asia Visit
Elon Musk will be pleased that his surprise jaunt to China on Sunday garnered many glowing headlines. The trip was undoubtedly equally a surprise to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had been scheduled to offer Musk the red carpet on a long-arranged visit. The billionaire blew off India at the last minute, citing "very heavy Tesla obligations." Indeed, Tesla has had a tumultuous couple of weeks, with federal regulator slap-downs, profits halving, and price-cut rollouts--yet, in a very public snub that Modi won't quickly forget, the company CEO made time for Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Tesla needs China more than China needs Tesla.

XPENG prepares its own robotaxi fleet, flying car, and robot
XPENG is preparing to launch its own robotaxi fleet, the world's first fully-electric flying car, and an AI-powered robot. The luxury vehicle maker said that its latest G9 SUV became China's first mass-produced commercial vehicle to pass the government-led Autonomous Driving Closed-field Test. "Obtaining the road test permit by our mass-produced commercial vehicles – with no retrofit – is a major achievement," said Dr Wu on XPENG's fourth annual Tech Day this week. "Our platform-based robotaxi development aims to generate significant cost benefits, and ensure product quality, safety, and user experience." The G9 uses XNGP, an advanced driver assistance platform developed by XPENG that supports driving scenarios from highways to complex urban roads.

Top highlights from Xpeng's 2021 Tech Day – TechCrunch
Chinese smart electric vehicle startup Xpeng has announced a series of innovations that direct the company towards crafting the mobility ecosystem of the future. "Our exploration of more efficient, safer, carbon-neutral mobility solutions goes far beyond just smart EVs, and is the cornerstone of our long-term competitive advantages," said He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of XPeng, at the startup's 2021 Tech Day in Beijing on Sunday. "We strive to implement cutting-edge mobility technologies in mass-production models for the benefit of our customers." Xiaopeng went into detail on the company's latest versions of its advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), its supercharger network, a next-generation flying car built with HT Aero and its robotic unicorn for kids. Xpeng is planning to roll out the next generation of its ADAS to drivers in select cities during the first half of 2022. Xpilot 3.5 will feature "City Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP)" and will only be available to drivers of Xpeng's P5 family sedan, which can be built with lidar, millimeter-wave radar and a 3D visual perception network that can recognize, classify and position multiple targets – all of which is essential for city-level NGP.

La veille de la cybersécurité
It seems as though XPeng Robotics plans to build a robot unicorn in the future. XPeng is one of the leading electric car companies in China and a rival to Tesla with its EVs sharing many similarities to those made by Elon Musk's company. The G3 SUV, for example, features auto-parking and a drive assist feature similar to Tesla's Autopilot. XPeng's sedan, the P7, has a range of 438 miles, just beating out the 405 miles of the Model S, but it lacks the speed of its American rival. China's developments in robotics have been interesting as of late.
