AI Helps Insurance Companies Make Smarter Decisions - Wipro
When a broker sends an email requesting a quote for an insurance policy, an AI tool like Holmes captures the email and processes all the information, including from attachments. It could then automatically create a case in a CRM tool like Salesforce, filling-in all the relevant and available information. The case handler would be automatically notified of the request and could review the automatically retrieved information. An automated user interface (UI) supports the entire process, with features such as the ability to visualize where specific data was retrieved, identify external sources used to validate data (like the Customer Commercial Name or VAT Number), or highlight updates sent by the broker during the validation process.
Wipro, University of South Carolina, IIT Patna partner on AI-led innovation
Wipro has entered into a three-year partnership with the University of South Carolina and the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT Patna) with an aim to advance artificial intelligence (AI) led innovation. The co-innovation model of the partners is said to represent a joint research attempt that will involve doctoral candidates from industries and academia. Professor Amit Sheth -- founding director of the AI Institute at the University of South Carolina said: "Wipro's initiative to collaborate with top national and international academic partners in Natural Language Processing is pathbreaking. The co-innovation model pursued by this collaboration has a significantly higher chance to achieve tangible results for all involved. "AIISC @UoSC has years of experience building and applying knowledge graphs in research and commercial applications.

Combining Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning and AI Solutions - Wipro
For example, those processes where RPA could not be implemented because the underlying data was unstructured and human judgment was involved can now be automated by introducing AI, which would convert the unstructured data to structured data and make decisions as a human would. In addition, AI robots would self-learn over time and thus would further free up resources that are needed to work on the'exceptions', which RPA could not handle. Integrating RPA and AI would also allow the automation process to become significantly faster and end-to-end. Similarly, the lone implementation of AI may not make business sense because of the implementation costs involved, but when combined with RPA, would be viable to implement, as combined ROI of the two technologies would be positive.
AI could be the next big defence against cybercrime
The future of corporate cybersecurity seems to lie in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions, a new report from global IT company Wipro suggests. According to Wipro's annual State of Cybersecurity Report (SOCR), almost half (49 percent) of all cybersecurity-related patents filed in the last four years have centered on AI and ML application. Almost half of the 200 organizations that participated in the report also said they are expanding cognitive detection capabilities to tackle unknown attacks in their Security Operations Centers (SOC). From a global perspective, one of the main threats for organizations in the private sector seems to be potential espionage attacks from nation-states. Almost all (86 percent) cyberattacks that came from state-sponsored actors fall under the espionage category and almost half (46 percent) of those attacks targeted the private sector.
