A key part of this work focusses on how to strategically allocate limited resources. Her primary application area is poaching prevention, helping rangers in protected areas around the world plan patrols and identify poaching hotspots. This month, The Alan Turing Institute launched #TalkDataToMe, a new video series and social media campaign which aims to explain topics related to artificial intelligence (AI) and data science. The video series has been created to provide accessible and factual information. The first episode sees host Tabitha Goldstaub ask Andrea Baronchelli about non-fungible tokens (NFTs). He explains what NFTs are, provides some examples of NFTs, and discusses what the development of NFTs means for online "ownership". The Institute have invited the audience to get in touch and suggest topics that they'd like to see covered.

The course will also cover writing simple data structures and sorting algorithms. In future lectures, we will introduce more advanced data structures, such as binary search trees and hashing tables. The objective of this video series is to give aspiring programmers all the necessary tools to kick start their learning journey. We will cover not only how to write code, but also the inner workings of the machines on which we code in order to prepare students for success in the field.

Over the years it has progressed to give us automated vacuum cleaners, robot dogs, Siri and Alexa, image recognizers, Chess and Go world masters, self-driving cars, and self-guided drones. These technologies have powerful impacts on Naval operations and warfighting as well. AI has the potential to revolutionize military technology, capability and operations. The possibilities have raised many speculations about what AI is capable of and whether it can be trusted.

The reality of human-level artificial intelligence is still a dream. Even with all of the recent advancements in state-of-the-art AI, its ability to understand the world around us is only at the level of a one-year-old child. We don't yet know how to build a robot to match a two-year-old's ability to empathize or her ability to define new goals to help others. The software industry has entered a race to apply AI in every vertical possible. While AI technology adoption is accelerating, our ability to understand its potential impact isn't keeping up.
