In a written statement, Newsom described the pilot program as "a town hall for the modern era -- where Californians share their perspectives, concerns, and ideas geared toward finding real solutions." Richard Webb, who is white. This team – a precursor to the modern Special Forces units – is assembled for a mission to enter Berlin and thwart a German plan to establish a Fourth Reich.

Call of Duty League players say maps that are fun for the casual fans don't necessarily translate well to the league. Casual maps are built for big -- team deathmatch -- fights where players throw themselves at each other in pursuit of the most kills. League players want smaller maps and they also want less chance for pure luck to decide the outcome of a gunfight. Symmetrical, three-lane maps are easier to assess. Players can predict the opposition's movements based on where they were last seen and where the map's spawn points are.

Previously, players wanting to play at frenetic tempos would need to focus on a handful of smaller maps like Nuketown, Rust or the aforementioned Shipment, limiting the scope of the game. Now, players seeking kill-per-second speeds can opt for a mode that will pack more enemies into maps. For example, during the media preview, we played Patrol on the Blitz setting on the expansive Red Star map set in Stalingrad. Instead of compressing the playing area (as in "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's" Strike versions of its bigger maps) they packed in more players for a 48v48 match. It produced chaos of the fun variety as players found roles for themselves that suited their style.
