Modi's BJP 'shaken' by stronger opposition, says congress leader
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ruling party leaders have been rattled by India's newly emboldened opposition, which now plans to use its expanded presence in parliament to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party on multiple fronts, a senior opposition leader said. Shashi Tharoor, a senior member of the Indian National Congress and 15-year veteran of the lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha, said BJP leaders appeared "shaken" by a fiery parliamentary speech this week by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. He said the speech signals the presence of a more forceful opposition in India for the first time since Modi took power a decade ago. "They're not used to it. They have to get used to it," Tharoor said of the BJP during an interview in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Thermal camera with face detection tech for fever screening procured in Kerala
The first Thermal and Optical Imaging camera with Artificial Intelligence-powered face detection technology for fever screening has been procured for the state capital by former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor. Following a discussion, his team had with district collector K Gopalakrishnan, Congress leader Tharoor said it was brought to his notice that a Thermal imaging camera with face detection technology was urgently needed in the district to scan from a safe distance and isolate those potentially having fever. Using his MPLADS fund, Tharoor, who represents, Thiruvananthapuram in the Lok Sabha, procured the equipment. Bahrain and Dubai before finally reaching Bengaluru, from where it was shipped to Kerala, Tharoor said in a Facebook Post. "The installation will be done at our Airport, Railway Station, MCH. Since all MPLADS funds have been exhausted, we are approaching other corporate groups to partner with us and the district administration to procure more of this highly sophisticated technological device prior to the huge influx of expatriates from the middle east and other areas overseas,"

Shashi Tharoor Says AI Will Take Away Jobs From Humans
The man who made the entire nation scamper about to reach their devices to search the word "farrago" has said that jobs in India are in danger due to artificial intelligence. Speaking on the third day at Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) conclave in Chennai, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor spoke about the negative effects of using artificial intelligence. "Artificial intelligence is also making inroads into jobs like medical transcription. A World Bank report points out that 69 percent of Indian jobs would be taken away by robots," said Tharoor. "In the US, they are talking about driverless cars. What will happen to 25 million drivers in India?" he said, according to a national newspaper.
